Denmark manager lined up to replace him. Soon as that came out it was only a matter of time before they sacked him.

I thought he’d get another couple of weeks. They’ve had a bad run but he deserved more time after how he turned their fortunes around.

If these clubs have managers lined up, possibly the right time to do it with the international break and two weeks on the training ground.

15 now gone since start of season in top four divisions and an incredible 34 clubs have made changes since the end of last season.
Thomas Tuchel, appointed on 26th January this year at Chelsea, is now in the top half in 46th place.

He is 2nd or 3rd I believe. He is definitely behind the Harrogate manager, but not sure if he is ahead or behind Gareth Ainsworth at Wycombe.

3rd behind the 2 you mentioned, but he must be easily the longest serving current PL manager by a distance.claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 1:51 pmHe is 2nd or 3rd I believe. He is definitely behind the Harrogate manager, but not sure if he is ahead or behind Gareth Ainsworth at Wycombe.

That fact just illustrates how trigger happy PL clubs are these days, thankfully we seem to have a more sensible approach, and don't pot the gaffer when we go through a lean period, long may this common sense attitude continue at BFC.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:09 pmKlopp is second on PL list - October 2015 - so three years after Dyche.

TBF to Villa top brass, they have spent an absolute fortune, and every other club who has spent that sort of money has either won something or sacked their manager much sooner.

A net spend of roughly £219 million since Smith took over, the Villa hierarchy will definitely be expecting a better return on that.Roosterbooster wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:18 pmTBF to Villa top brass, they have spent an absolute fortune, and every other club who has spent that sort of money has either won something or sacked their manager much sooner.

When Villa first came back up and they were struggling definitely agree. Not so sure now though. As others have said they have spent the kind of money the owners would expect to see converted into a top-half team challenging for European club football - like neighbours Wolvesdandeclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:30 pmThis is the one club potting their manager, who concerns me about ours.
I don't think a manager like Dyche fits where they are aiming to take the club

Newcastle have made the biggest mistake going for our former manager and not our current one just imagine what Dyche could do with a budget like they have.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:39 pmYou would think he’d have to be a target but so many other clubs have ignored him and gone down the wrong road. Re: Dean Smith is potted
Looking at that list, then Bruce & Smith do stick out a mile as underachieving, the other 3 can possibly consider themselves unfortunate to be dismissed, but with that amount of net spend by Newcastle and Villa neither would expect to be hovering near the foot of the Prem table.claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:40 pmNet spend of sacked Premier League managers so far this season below:

Christ can you imagine how painful it will be to have to listen to John Terry giving interviews etc each week.
Please keep him away from football, Chairmen and Chairwomen.

Dyche has done around £90 million since coming to Burnley but from 2013 summer window to now averages around £5 million spend per window.

If SD were to leave Denmarks manager would be top of my list. He really has them guys behind him and they play good stuff.
Lampard favourite for the Norwich job, a backward step for me. Couldn’t get Derby up with a team including Mount, Tomori and Wilson. Canned at Chelsea after it appeared the players had given up on him.

The writing was on the wall for Villa. Look at their results without Grealish, last season, and then they sell him.

Re: Dean Smith is potted
I thought we sacked waddle didn’t realise he walked.
I also thought Ternent walked but Kilby said otherwise in that podcast the other week.
Re: Dean Smith is potted
Barry got his own back on Ternent
A month or so before the end of the season Ternent was asked about the next season and he replied
"I'm meeting with the Chairman soon and we will see if his ambitions match mine"
Barry then announced that the club would not be offering a new contract to Stan
Well done Barry
But also fair do's to Stan as he didn't just walk out but stayed until the season was over

The version I heard from a close source was Stan went to discuss contracts to be told
“I’ve had an epiphany”
Stans’ reply, “what? On the road to Damascus?”

It was the club's decision that he was no longer our manager so I'd place it in the same category, as I would Steve Cotterill's which was by mutual consent.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 3:30 pmIs not renewing Stans contract counted as a sacking?

That's a sacking for the managers of the two teams directly below us and the two teams directly above us. I'm including Watford on account of the fact that their managers only last, on average, about two months anyway.

Out of interest does that figure for Bruce at Newcastle include the 40 Mil for Joelinton? If it does I’m sure he was signed before Bruce was appointed even though most Newcastle fans do class him as a Bruce signing.
