Hi guys had a log burner fitted recently. Just wondering if anyone can recommend any good hardwood log suppliers localish to Burnley with reasonable pricing.Getting a pallet size bag is out of the question due to storage space. I used Birch and Ash over the weekend. Any other hardwood with a good heat output and longish burntime.

I've had a log burner for 7 years. Brilliant item. Never paid a cent for wood though.... I burn any old crap that's lying around the island... Never had a prob.. So many pallets lying around, and small pine woodland nearby.

You see a lot of nonsense written about logburners...much of it aimed at unnecessarily parting you from your brass.

Started off using CB Coal at Waterfoot, they'll deliver for you and also you can choose just what type of logs you prefer, along with how much you can easily store. They also do everything you'll ever need for your logburner.

We got bought from family some bags of logs from Home Bargins, they are without doubt the best logs I've ever had, they are so dry and give out so much heat and they take with the slightest flame/heat, you can get a pallet delivered from them online, which contains 56 bags for about £220 but I know you said you had an issue with storage. Think a bag is about £4 indivdually. We only have the log burner on occasionally so a pallet tends to see us out the winter months

Play about with it as well to get as much heat/burn time from your logs. Use the air vents to control the draw of the fire. Always give it a good clean out after each burn to keep it burning well, build up of ash will affect the burn.
I bought myself some cheap paintbrushes to get in and get all the ash out and a cheap hand held vac with easy to clean filters, I find it actually quite soothing cleaning it all out, I don't mind doing it at all

Another one for Home Bargains. I have had logs form a number of different stores and theirs are by far the best. £4 a bag, the only issue generally is that when they have stock they sell out quickly.

There's an abundance of semi seasoned wood in most woodland (funnily enough). It's better for the environment that (poor) people are now less likely to have a fire place, but it's also cruel that winter fuel is literally lying on the floor when they can't afford gas.

My step dad built a log cabin about 20 years ago, he died 9 years ago. I just knocked it down and need rid of the wood.
