"Here's hoping they miss out on the playoffs on the final day."

Are you in charge of the plane, Rowls? :)

Thats what every fan of every club bankrolled by a wealthy owner says till the owner either sells, gets bored or leaves

Then the debt becomes the football clubs
Well in fairness we haven't even had to wait for our new owners to get bored and move on for that to happen at our club. A significant debt was taken on by the club to allow our takeover to go through in the first place.

I'm not comparing the situation to that down the road, btw. It's not the same.

I'd love them to make the play-offs, then get completely battered in the play-off final ;)

It is the time of year for them to get their fans excited. I think it due to Christmas shop sales. They’ll fall away in the New Year amid shouts for everyone to get out of their glorious club, and the inmates will disappear back under their stones until August; as disillusioned as ever.

Meanwhile Burnley will have signed three or four new bodies, who will be judged inadequate by the usual naysayers on here as we prepare for another season of ‘elite’ football

They'll be a rush of shirt sales in time for Christmas and come the summer when they can actually wear them they'll be too ashamed to again.
