Most managers are complaining that there is too many games in a short period around this time of year, so surely a game off here and there gives them a longer break in between and stretches the season out, possibly if that’s doable
They can play the reserves in the FA and League Cups, as they partly do anyway.

Football is a massive part of Christmas, just doesn’t seem the same without it!
