A long shot I know but does anybody know of an electrician doing call outs today? Home emergency cover can’t find anyone! Sockets downstairs are tripping the circuit breaker despite nothing being plugged in now!
Thank you

No contacts I’m afraid
If everything disconnected, have you checked for moisture/water anywhere on the downstairs ring? Could be a damaged outdoor light or water damaged wall causing break?

Thanks anyway! Yeah we’ve had a bit of a damp issue so could be that. We were out and everything was off, so was thinking the boiler may have tried to kick in and blown something!

Messaged a mate of mine but he’ll probably be 5 pints deep by now

I do and I know he will sort you as he’s my best mate, leave your details if needed as it will literally be a mated rates deal

Seems to have been the ongoing damp issue. We have power apart from 2 sockets (the ones used for TV and Wi-Fi) but Christmas can now go ahead!
Gutted I didn’t see the mates rates offer. Home emergency are going to fork out because they couldn’t find anyone to come out in 3 hours of trying! One phone call from me and the guy was on his way. Thank you for the offer though!

Not sure where you live but I was thinking about this just two days ago.'One of those 'what if?' scenarios. I don't live in the Burnley area but would have done it for free. I'm an electrical engineer. Not necessarily approved for home visits but it's Christmas and I would have hated you to be without leccy today. Hope it's all sorted.
