Nixon reckons we want £40m for him which may put them off.

In which case we should get the right price and sell.

Been watching videos (yes I know lol) of him and he looks a tricky player. Superb vision!

In a better team I think his assist count would be much higher - but we'd need someone to put the ball in the back of the net.

The key words here are "in a better team"......plus I assume you can't see Wood's dancing feet getting around a PL keeper like their CF?

Problem is it leaves us with an even bigger job than we already have. Replacing McNeil and the 3-4 other positions in one window is a big ask

Nixon wrote the article so probs something in it.
Can’t see palace they are overloaded in that position & have Gallagher all season Chelsea can’t recall even if they wanted to, can’t even start eze or olise, Everton & villa are far more likely especially Everton if wanted to strengthen to push up the table the expectations are pretty high at GP & underwhelming so far.

Interesting
I know Willie McKay is a fairly popular agent for French footballers so probably something in it
Emiliano Sala’s agent involved in the plane crash disaster that took the poor man’s life.
If I remember the press weren’t very complimentary about him and his transfer tactics.

West Brom sign Daryl Dike.

Really thought we would have been interested in this one
He’s had an ineffective time since Barnsley both at club and international level.

Perhaps found out… like a new band putting out their second album.

Couldn’t see this already posted.
But Burnley or Seville?
Wouldn’t expect to win this battle if it’s true.

Interested and putting in a firm bid are two very different things.

The player may decide he'd rather wait till the summer and hope Sevilla come in but time will tell.

We thought we’d have no chance with Cornet when Hertha were linked with him at the same time as us

Aubameyang and Trippier, great to see them planning for the future.

I wondered why Aubameyang wasn't in the Arsenal squad yesterday, and this link probably explains why.

Add Aaron Ramsey to that list
They are planning for the future
They have more than enough money to use on expensive deals that should secure their Prem status for next year

Looks like he's going all Kevin Keegan, sod the defence, if you score three we'll score four.

Yes I was being slightly flippant, but unlike us, and say Norwich, Newcastle can afford to pay top dollar even for a short-term fix.

There is a danger in their approach though, and that's how harmonious will their dressing room be if it's full of mercenaries.

He's not been in their squad for a few weeks now because of disciplinary issues. I'm not sure he'll have the right mentality for a relegation battle.

Not sure if he joins Newcastle that Aubemeyang will be spending much time in the north east. He seems to do what he wants

No and has he ever been involved in a relegation scrap throughout his career, I don't know, but I somehow doubt it.

Whereas Trippier does know what it takes at the bottom, Aubameyang is generally used to competing for honours, and chasing top 4 with Arsenal.

This is precisely what I'm referring to when I question the harmony of their squad with all these big names coming in, how will the lads already there feel.

Plus Aubameyang is away at the ACON, so that's roughly another month he'll miss, then he's got to get used to Newcastle's style of play, and his new team mates.

It's not as simple as just buying players, as we've seen many times names don't win you things or get results, it's usually teamwork that reaps the rewards, City are a prime example of that, yesterday they were terrible for 45 minutes, then 2nd half they were first to every loose ball, and won most of their personal duels, therefore allowing their quality to shine through in the end.

Why all this interest in Newcastle? It’s a backwater. Full of mindless, cultureless brexiteers who know not what they want from life. They are doomed and destined to follow their counterparts, Middlesbrough and Sunderland, to the lower leagues.

With 11 points on the board this season, it will be a hell of a challenge getting people to join-particularly if they are any good

If we are paying quite a bit more than they are on I'd think it would be quite easy.

It would make sense to prepare for a championship season, and by getting them in early, it should ( you would hope) get them settled in time to start the new season fully prepared and ready for a promotion push

Wasting big finance on, fees, wages and loan fees etc isn't the way to go now IMO, we have shown we are lacking both the quality and more worryingly the desire to get out of this mess.
I'd much sooner we put any available finance into the plan of getting out of the championship at the 1st time of asking.

Regarding a report linking Everton, Palace and Villa with a move for Dwight McNeil this January, I’m told nothing has changed from the summer and it’s not anticipated that anything will be happening this month

So many people complaining about the age and ability of our squad, whilst simultaneously shouting for one of our youngest and brightest talents to be sold and shipped out. Bonkers.

As incredibly unappealing a prospect as it is we need to focus on assembling a squad which can stabilise us in the Championship. Not much point being over ambitious, as our top priority now is to make sure we don’t go sliding through the leagues saddled with Pace’s debts. We have to consolidate and then start a long term rebuilding project built on firmer more sustainable foundations.

That’s the spirit.

We need to now plan to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Jesus wept.

I expect a couple of experienced pro’s arriving on loan, players coming to the end of their contracts looking for a shop window. But, I also expect a couple of ‘up and coming’ type signings who can step in as required but are mainly coming in to be ready for kicking off in the Premier next season.

I am not going to speculate on names, but there are few playing out their final days on big contracts that won’t be being renewed and are looking to show they still have what it takes.
