100% down to Dyche

Post by FCBurnley » Sun Jan 02, 2022 3:57 pm

Got the team selection and tactics totally wrong. Cornet had to start. McNeil has to
Play on the left. JGB is just no longer good enough and neither is Cork. Collins needs to play maybe in a back 3.

Today we looked like a relegated team and Dyche looked desperate and out of ideas

Has to go for me. What other professional football team would have stuck with a manager this poor for so long?

Collins is one of our few bright sparks this season. I'd agree with you that you need to get your best players on the pitch even if it requires a system change

Moving cornet to wing was a schoolboy error

I would back Dyche’s ideas against posters on here who have probably never managed a Football Team in their lives

I agree that we needed to keep him up top to give ourselves the best chance. He’s the only one that looks like scoring at the moment. Issue is we have no subs to replace the awful Dwight whereas we do have forwards!

So we are saying that the only people that can have a valid opinion are those that have managed football teams.

May as well close the messageboard or call it ‘up the politics’ or something as I can’t imagine that many posters on here are experienced managers.

I believe in a man who has no tactics but no one else would have a clue on how to manage this team esp posters on here, that is what i think he was trying to say :)

I don't think the tactics were wrong, the players just weren't fresh enough after the midweek game. Totally different energy levels to what we showed against United.

Looking at the Leeds side and who they had missing I’m pretty astounded if anyone believes it was beyond the wit of a decent professional football manager to prepare our squad to take something from the game.

We’re a poor side no doubt, but this version of Leeds United are hardly vintage - hence their recent form.

Can't defend that today, and it was exactly the same at Newcastle, I'm a realist, and know we will lose our fair share of games at this level, but I'm  at how poorly we've performed in the key games versus Newcastle, Norwich and today. 1 point out of 9 against teams that have been struggling to win games themselves is shooting ourselves in the foot big time.

Fair comment, but I've taken particular notice of dyche for quite some time now, not just this but last, he's body language on the touchline tells me he's void of ideas, can't knock the fact he got us in this league but he just simply hasn't grown with it in the last couple of seasons, yes he may have had he's hands tied behind his back "garlick" but as I've said on another thread, no other Premier league manager would have put up with it the way he has, I believe he's been he's own worst enemy thinking we can stand still for 3 or 4 seasons and still expect to stay in this league, and to say the least he's stubbornness has been baffling at times.

It’s not Dyche, in some ways l don’t even think it was Garlick, although I would probably put more blame there. It’s a club thing, we are just too small to survive in this League indefinitely. It’s a miracle we’ve lasted so long. Unless you have someone prepared to throw their own money at it, it’s impossible. Is there a club that’s even remotely managed to achieve what we have?

In previous seasons when we have been down here I personally have looked at the players and thought yes we have enough to get out of this and at the manager and thought he will turn it round, sadly I don`t see or feel any of those things now and so do we just sleepwalk into the championship or does Pace take a chance of turning it round with changes at the top and maybe the odd fresh face on the pitch because the last 12 months record with what we have doesn`t bode well. Nothing to lose IMO only the ££££`s

I have absolutely no knowledge of PL football management,
but any other PL chairman would have sacked a manager for results similar to ours over the last 12-18 months.

Failing to beat those teams in and around us is nothing new and it was exactly the same scenario last season Home draws against Fulham and the Baggies and a home defeat to Newcastle as I recall. As for lack of goals this campaign we were one of the 3 lowest scoring teams last season.

Correct! and we dodged a bullet last season due to the bottom 3 being so poor, and picking up some surprising wins on the road in particular.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that we struggle to score goals, that's always been the case in the Prem, but our usually reliable defence has suddenly gone all to pot, and the amount of sloppy goals we're shipping is becoming ridiculous now.

TBH the form we're in right now I wouldn't even be confident of beating Watford if we played them, at least they've got match winners in their squad, whereas we only have Cornet that seems able to produce moments of quality.

Why, the poster believes in things which some people believe arent there (also known as a joke) so in effect he believes in a manager with hardly any success in the last twelve months and wont have it that anyone else has a valid opinion apart from him that that manager is successful.

If you believe in things which arent there it doesnt make you a prat it makes you delusional.

Your offended because you believe God exists or that Sean Dyche has managed Burnley well this season, which one?

5% Dyche 10% Woan 85% Stone.
I have to agree that since Tony Loughran left and Stone replaced him we seem to have gone from bad to worse

Don't panic
We clearly aren’t…..

And that will be our undoing.

Failing to beat those teams in and around us is nothing new and it was exactly the same scenario last season Home draws against Fulham and the Baggies and a home defeat to Newcastle as I recall. As for lack of goals this campaign we were one of the 3 lowest scoring teams last season.
Wow. Just wow.

Sean, get yourself off here, have a chat with the lads on the coach and get yourself a Chinese when you get back.
