Re: ARTICLE: Arsenal game moves to Sunday
As mentioned on another thread, I’m not going to this game but the news has really, really annoyed me. Once again, a big boy throws their weight around, authorities are to afraid to make a big call and our fans lose out. Why can’t they play the second leg on the Wednesday??

Does anyone know how long it takes to get from the Emirates to Euston by tube? My train from Euston is 5:13pm so I'm guessing that I'm going to be struggling. Thanks for any help.

Just when you thought rearranging games at short notice couldn’t get much worse…..
Whilst relegation would be a massive disappointment……….back to mainly Tuesday Saturday and the ability to book travel with a degree if confidence won’t be unwelcome…..

Re: ARTICLE: Arsenal game moves to Sunday
Disgusting, again through no fault of Burnley our fans get messed about. Three options could have been taken here:
1. League Cup Semi is changed to a one leg game at Emirates next week (Liverpool lose their right to host a leg)
2. Play the 2nd leg on the Wednesday.
3. Tell Arsenal no one else's problem, you're playing on the Saturday.
With postponements or rearranged games like this, their needs to be a refund scheme either from clubs or Premier League directly for fans who miss out and already paid expenses.

Walk down to Angel tube ( about half an hour walking briskly ) and the tube to Euston takes no more than ten minutes.
Angel tube is best because all the nearer underground stations will have long queues.

15 mins walk up to Highbury & Islington then ten minutes on the train back to Euston. Be back in 30 mins as not normally a big queue.HuncoatClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 5:58 pmDoes anyone know how long it takes to get from the Emirates to Euston by tube? That’s me and TY knackered - booked train believing no TV game so what could possibly happen. Travelling to watch Burnley should carry a health warning and a financial one too.

Klippty was bragging how many subs he could cobble together and how much he controls his players welfare. Why then are the Scousers screwing everyone over?

I can’t see why the cup tie is on the Thursday?
They both play Sunday but I’m sure sides often play Sunday, Wednesday Saturday.

Re: ARTICLE: Arsenal game moves to Sunday
Option 1 should have been the outcome, and why when clubs are complaining about the amount of games are LC semi-finals still 2 legged?claretburns wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 6:09 pmDisgusting, again through no fault of Burnley our fans get messed about. Three options could have been taken here:

Seems pointless to me, what is the problem with arranging a neutral venue, and playing a one-off tie.

A major reason while I feel such disconnect with football is things like this.

Probably the fact that it would result in one less game for TV.

You'll make that. If you want to be certain you'd be able to walk it in time.HuncoatClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 5:58 pmDoes anyone know how long it takes to get from the Emirates to Euston by tube? Re: ARTICLE: Arsenal game moves to Sunday
Huncoatclaret is a former legendary Lancashire League opening batsman and currently a highly trained sports groundsman who should be fit as a fiddle.
In reality he is neither but he should manage the two and a half miles back to Euston in an hour and a half walking backwards on one leg!

Klopp now says they only had one positive Covid case. The rest were “a load of false positives”

To be honest, I’d be surprised if match day fans were considered at all when decisions about rearranging games are taken.

Yes. Get away sharpish, quick jog South on Holloway Road to Highbury & Islington , catch Victoria Line Tube 2 stops to Euston.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 9:40 pmI’ve never done it but you can get back to Euston in under an hour can’t you?
I would avoid Finsbury Park due to queueing and crowd controls.
Should make that train fairly comfortably I'd say!
