Bands that were ONE album wonders.

Any bands that you consider to have an excellent debut album and then, nothing no other recordings.

I'll start with The Seahorses - Do It Yourself.

I'd go as far as say that The Seahorses were a one-song wonder.

As mentioned, The La's definitely fit the bill.

And most one hit wonders have released more than one song. But i don't think that's what this is about

I'm gonna stick The Killers in. Nothing gets anywhere close to their first album

Also got to disagree with Pulp. His n Hers is brilliant, not just Different Class

Id like to retract my Queen suggestion. On reflection I think its unfair to suggest they have had even one decent album

Logged in just to pile in some more on the Pulp suggestion.

His n Hers, Different Class and This is Hardcore are all brilliant. There's plenty to enjoy among their other 4 studio albums too.

Jarvis is still knocking out great stuff to this day.

Likewise logged in to comment on this. Cant say I'm a Pulp/Jarvis fanboy but they have several very good albums, no way are they one-hit-wonders.

Given the last 3 in that list and combined global sales of their output. I reckon that , given your large back catalogue of input on here. Surely you must have made at least one decent contribution, and been a one post wonder.

queens first album was it, after that it was dross like we will rock you,
anthemic dross for wrestling fans and sales teams.
they were popular and rich. but fat bottomed girls and i want to break free were comedy songs for the numb.

The verve?

Depends on criteria of a 'hit'. They certainly never lived up to urban myths.

I was just going to say The Verve. Urban Hymns was brilliant but don't recall a follow up if there was one.

Both Storm in Heaven and Northern Soul prior to Urban Hymns we’re ten times better that pile of plop. Plus they released a final album but I’d given up on them by then.

They released the album "forth" in 2008 which was a number 1 album for them, while it wasn't a patch on urban hymns, it did have a couple of good songs, love is noise and rather be being the only ones I can recall
