Lest's just hope that the manager isn't at his arogant best and he realises the press are only doing their jobs by asking diffucult questions..

I don't think it's being arrogant. It's more that he's built up a relationship with the media there, they know each other really well and it really is banter. The problem is filming it and allowing flies on the wall watching and not understanding those relationships.Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 10:35 amLest's just hope that the manager isn't at his arogant best and he realises the press are only doing their jobs by asking diffucult questions..

Re: Thursday press conference
And that's where the problem lies... Talk about Wood being in his comfort zone, these reporters have this relationship and to keep it, they never report anything the club, or Dyche don't want them to, but don't seem to get anything back in return, they are never the ones to break a story, it's always a reporter from out of town who reports on transfers, so what are they getting from this relationship with the manager?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:47 amI don't think it's being arrogant. Re: Thursday press conference
Comfort zone? Dyche knows every time he enters the press room one wrong word and he’s toast. Burnley conduct their transfer business in a professional manor and have no control over clubs and individuals that do not. Why would we want to alert other teams as to our targets?Backofthenet wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 12:15 pmAnd that's where the problem lies... You need more empathy with what Dyche and Burnley are actually looking to do with both transfer dealings and in mandatory press conferences that no manager wants to do.
The exception being JM when he wanted to slate us.

Re: Thursday press conference
They don’t report the goings on within the club because SD fends them off with drivel. It is his duty as manager to maintain that distance. There is nothing more dangerous than making friends of journalists… Dyche plays the game, no more. He is not their friend, he makes them feel they are in for a bit of fun while they all sit there knowing they will get nothing. Burnley are old fashioned in that they keep their business quiet (largely from lack of financial muscle to compete) we always have done.Backofthenet wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 3:06 pmNobody is falling out with journalists... Just ask Tony about how Stan reacted when as a friend he was told some inside information… the story broke from another poster but Tony was named and shamed and the old message board condemned. Stan snubbed Tony for quite a while afterwards.

They are either very poor reporters, or doing what they are asked to by the club... Certainly the Burnley express and the telegraph

It must surely be near to the time the group of fans who are constantly angry at the club and the manager show them how they feel. There must be between 10-20 on here alone who could form an action group and let the club know how you feel. Doesn't have to be during the game can be before or after.
People wanted Teasdale out, they protested. Laws received it as well. Many a time there has been a protest after the match on Brunshaw Rd. It seems a waste that some complain on here, others hide but like comments they won't voice themselves and maybe the club has no idea how some fans are thinking.

Re: Thursday press conference
According to The Guardian online Sean Dyche is reported to be "furious" and the Burnley hierarchy "spitting feathers" at the sale/loss of their key front man to a relegation rival. Be interesting to see if that comes across in tomorrows press conference.

I refuse to believe he didn't know there was a clause in the contract...if they were going to be furious, they shouldn't have agreed to put the clause in place (or increased it)kentonclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:01 pmAccording to The Guardian online Sean Dyche is reported to be "furious" and the Burnley hierarchy "spitting feathers" at the sale/loss of their key front man to a relegation rival. If he knew about the Tarks clause he would have known this one. When the Tarks one raised its head any sensible manager would have asked the question about other key players

Re: Thursday press conference
Even Wood said he didn't think anyone would trigger the clause, and to be fair nobody other than Newcastle, with their new found wealth would ever have paid it. It is worth it to Newcastle, even if he never plays, just to weaken us, no other club could ever have done that.
I think Dyche is furious at Newcastle more than Wood, or the club, from the little I've read.

Dyche covering his ass for tomorrows press conference when he will be interrogated about the sale of CW,
what better way to cover the controversial sale to a relegation rival by saying he wasn't aware, its not like we have too many strikers fighting for a place,
what manager doesn't know the details of his players contracts?
and if he actually doesn't then thats a level of incompetence that cannot be tolerated

I knew I could slip on the ice outside ...so I put some grit down to stop it happening
The day I did slip because I didn't put grit down, I accepted it, because I know I didn't put any grit down
The day I slipped on the ice outside someone else's, I accepted it because I knew it could happen and it was out of my control

Absolutely we did, but there was whole generations of journalists that did little other than take the p!ss out of us for it. They even wore badges “Banned from Burnley”. You think SD could get away with a tenth of what BL came out with? Any praise Burnley got at the time was begrudging and why very few mourned our dive-bombing down the league tables.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 3:49 pmSaw some cracking players and games whilst he was doing it.

Not Dyche fault
Not the clubs fault
It’s just the way it goes in football, why’s everyone looking for someone to blame?
