We're currently 20th and it's the end of January. Maybe a bit of dice chucking is what we need.Sleeping Cat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 1:54 pmA good performance no doubt, but the rest of his stats don't exactly fill me with as much excitement. At 29 it feels like a bit of a throw of the dice.

If this story had been about a transfer story breaking and us losing out on a player, this thread would be going mental
As it isn't, you can draw your own conclusions about quite a lot of the posters sadly

Over an hour for a negative response surely means sign him.
Done well there has Orsic normally get one within 5 minutes

Europa League team of the year, full Croatian international (scored and assisted in Euro knockouts), 9 goals 5 assists in 31 appearances this season, creative but hard working winger… just trying to get you a bit excited.Sleeping Cat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 1:54 pmA good performance no doubt, but the rest of his stats don't exactly fill me with as much excitement. Oh and he’s only just turned 29 a couple of weeks ago.

I don't disagree. I just find it interesting, the comparison in the perception of potential signing. Hope he signs and does the business.RicardoMontalban wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 1:58 pmWe're currently 20th and it's the end of January. Maybe a bit of dice chucking is what we need.

He came off the bench in the Euros last 16 tie with Spain and changed the game, goal and assist, from 3-1 down to 3-3. Spain then won in Extra timeSleeping Cat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 1:54 pmA good performance no doubt, but the rest of his stats don't exactly fill me with as much excitement. Newcastle make £7m bid for Orsic and triple Burnley’s salary offer to the Croatian.

Similar to cornet in that he’s too good for us really. Think he can do well here, rapid and a great shot on him. Very good scoring record.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Yeah 24 goals and 9 assists in 51 appearances last season.
Has scored at West Ham this season too playing as a centre forward it seems.
Seems most of his time been on the left wing though so I wonder where he’ll play for us?
Ideally id like to see a new striker with Orsic left, McNeil CAM and Cornet right.

Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Would be a good signing. Looks to move well with the ball (a bit like a Hazard or Podence). Can clearly go past opponents and has some good stats at a very good level. For the kind of money being talked about, this would be a great signing imo.
Yes, we do need to lower the average age but 29 is not old and we need players ready to play NOW. We showed on Sunday that we have good defensive players and plenty of grafters but we need a touch of class to compliment that.
Hopefully this will be the first of at least 3 incomings this week.
Fingers crossed.

Also suggests orsic is the winger we want, Lauriente the forward and we are currently struggling with centre mids but there is time.
McNeil, cornet, lauriente and orsic would be a pretty serious front line for a team in the bottom end of the prem or even championship.

Would assume this means we are not following up on Lauriente as I highly doubt we wanted two wingers.
Still need a centre forward for sure. We do need a central midfielder but the links (bar Fofana which seems pie in the sky) aren’t suggesting we are chasing one.

There are plenty of critics of Pace on this board but he played a big part in bringing Cornet to the club, and now it looks like he is about to repeat the trick with Orsic.
Who's next I wonder?
Time to cut him a bit of slack I think.

Well let's hope we carry on like this and end up with 11 players that are too good for us, then maybe we can start to deal with our inferiority complex.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 2:10 pmSimilar to cornet in that he’s too good for us really. Swoop swoop
oh baby
Swoop swoop
Here's an article adds the wonderful word "swoop" into the mix and uses different words to tell us everything you knew from reading this thread:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... Orsic.html
However, it might bring a smile to your face to know we're on the brink of signing this fella.

I’ll believe it if we can agree personal terms with the player. Until then, pie in the sky.

Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Orsini would be a fantastic signing.
Add him to the 2 players we break our transfer record for, it will be ANOTHER absolutely fantastic transfer window by Alan snd his team.
( I still think they arrived 1 window too late to repair Mike's damage though, however at least he's making a fist of it )

Looks like a player who can get you off your seat from the highlights on youtube.

Which is a massive contrast to the one I saw for Enes Unal. Made me laugh at how unimpressive this collection is.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a target man on Sean's wishlist even if we do sign Orsic.

Don't forget the fantasy midfielder on loan. Ben said we're breaking our transfer record twice before Wood was sold too, must be spending some serious dosh in the next week.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Raul De Tomas would be a considerably better option than Unal, 12 goals in 21 games for De Tomas, battling relegation with Espanyol, £12M will do it. He started for Spain recently, very good link striker

Why people keep referring back to this post is beyond me, I think this post was the last time Ben posted on the board.BenWickes wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 12:40 pmAll I will say is, as I did last January. There'll be surprises. Good surprises.
I have been not only bang on accurate with telling you this I've been astonishingly accurate but can tell you now. There will be signings and some of those are going to top Cornet's signing. Don't be surprised to see our transfer record broken a couple of times.
I'll leave it at that.
My information has proven itself to be bob on when most of you laughed it off.

Do you think they will stop to pick up the French signings on the way or will they come separately?

He posted more recently to say an exciting loan to buy holding midfielder had been made available and was someone who we’d all be very happy with, then said that’s all he can say and ran off again.

Well we signed Cornet, so why not this lad? I only saw him in the Euro's, but he certainly made a major impact when he played, so let's hope we get this one over the line.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 2:10 pmSimilar to cornet in that he’s too good for us really. Can he do it on a Tuesday night in Stoke though, as he’ll have too at this rate

Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Because Ben said he has been "bang on", and "astonishingly accurate" in the past.
I'm sure either himself or other posters will be able to tell you when, and in regards as to what.
I personally can't think as to what he has been "astonishingly accurate" with , although it may have been on a thread I didn't read.
Suppose the next 6 days will determine whether he can be filed under the DanielJWaterhouse and RichardBFC category or if his word can be trusted/respected.

Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Have to say I know very little about him other that a couple of videos and the Spurs game, so am naturally skeptical when it comes to Burnley and transfers. However, I was exactly the same with Cornet and that worked out good so if these guys think he is the answer I am going to be hopeful this actually happens now and we don't have someone plucking him away at this late stage.

Certainly looks like Orsic will give Dale Stephens some competition
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
If we get Orsic for 7 million and add that to Cornet so we get both for 20 million and yet sold Wood for 25 million would you call it fraud or praise the board/recruitment team?

Quick Google shows he's currently being linked to Arsenal with a fee of £58.6m being quoted repeatedly. Interested to hear where you've seen £12m would do it.

I don’t think we need 6 days to decide where to file that poster. From what I’ve heard he is a serial liar who gets satisfaction from fabricating rumours because gullible people on here believe him. I’ll leave it at that because my sources have told me not to say any thing else.
