If any truth in Weghorst falling through I fear we’re absolutely knackered. Surely not.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Hopefully it’s just Nixon clutching at straws because he’s got no real news and to be fair he’s been behind the curve with these two

Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
It’s an extraordinary trait of football fans that if a publication such as The Sun publishes a story saying we’re going to sign Ramsey, Orisic, Weghorst, Lansbury, Lingard………it’s dismissed as complete ovular reproductive glands; if they publish a story saying we’re NOT signing someone, it causes mass hysteria.
I’m not criticising folk by the way, we all do it. We take bad news as gospel, good news as suspicious. Best thing to do is just wait and see.
Off at a slight tangent but I’ve had my struggles over the years with anxiety, and this was the lesson I took away from all my chats. Fear of the unknown. Worry is a way of dealing with that. But it makes no difference to the outcome.
Sorry. I’m waffling now.

There have been so many different stories about both Orsic and WW, many positive, about what they have done, their visits to England, their discussions, their agreement to sign, terms agreed, clubs accepting bids, that you just dont know who to believe. Most of it cant be true

We dont know its true yet, but if it is I guess he was "underwhelmed" by the experience, and our position in the PL

If it’s true & I hope it isn’t, everything boils down to money or should I say lack of it, we can think of excuses & reasons for this that & the other but when you offer enough money things happen & people sign straightaway.

Maybe he wanted to wear his clogs to play in, and we said no?

If WW signs I’ll take the Nixon story as cast iron proof of my theory that the journos read this board, pick up on the insecurities of some fans and play on them.

Perhaps WW was influenced by the prospect of Orsic signing alongside him, and with Orsic not signing, the prospect of coming to Burnley is not quite as appealing!
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Just remind us how many multiple million pound deals you have sealed by throwing enough money at it and despite the amount involved and complexity of the asset they signed straight away?Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:46 pmIf it’s true & I hope it isn’t, everything boils down to money or should I say lack of it, we can think of excuses & reasons for this that & the other but when you offer enough money things happen & people sign straightaway.

Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I pass on info when I can and what I pass on is what I believe to be the case at the time. Last night I was convinced both of them were signing but obviously that changed this morning with one of them.
As for Weghorst, Nixon said he came and went back. That’s absolutely spot on. The info I had was that he was coming back with a medical scheduled. If the medical is happening then the deal is done.
That was the info I had this morning on Weghorst. If anything has since changed then I don’t know about it.

But he reported something that didn't happen. Let's wait and see, Mail article suggesting we are close to signing him.

Liverpool apparently wanna ship Origi and Minamino out, I'd take the pair of them here in a double deal.

You should bother because of the posters on here that are interested in the inside info you get, and just ignore the 4rseh0les that are trying to disrupt the message board!ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:52 pmI can’t do any more than that but after the responses from some posters today I do wonder why I bother.

Pace is in Croatia, Dyche is in Cardiff, Woan is in Sheffield that leaves Stone to meet WW - underwhelmed is an overstatement. Luckily project journeyman will yield the result of moore and basham on Monday. The new Jay Rod and Stephens all praise the ginger messiah.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:44 pmWe dont know its true yet, but if it is I guess he was "underwhelmed" by the experience, and our position in the PL

They’ve to get their content from somewhere. Don’t be naive enough to think it’s all inside sources. They’ve columns to fill and clicks to generate. Places like this are prefect for generating content.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:52 pmYes they’ve got nothing better to do than practice skullduggery with insecure fans who post on this board.

Wouldn't that mean the medicals scheduled in Bacup would be for KM and CB, rather than JA and JL?brexit wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:57 pmPace is in Croatia, Dyche is in Cardiff, Woan is in Sheffield that leaves Stone to meet WW - underwhelmed is an overstatement. No-one is criticising you CT. We all greatly appreciate the effort you put in to keep us informed. I saw the story in the Irish Sun so thought I would report what I had seen and unfortunately it had a time tag on it of 8.51 pm tonight. It could be a late filing of previous out of date news but it was obviously concerning to see the report. Just hope its not true. Unfortunately Spurs and Arsenal were previously linked to him last season and WW had previously said he preferred to go to a PL team in the Champions League. He also has caused disruption allegedly in the dressing room at his club as he is not Covid vaccinated.

Leeds have already put a bid in for Minamino and tbh I would imagine both would be out of our wage budget. We are shopping in the right places now imho and just need to get the deals done or we will undoubtedly be playing in the Championship next season.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
He must be vaccinated now otherwise UK rules would mean his quick trips in and out weren’t allowed as unvaccinated have to quarantine for 10 days.LaLigaClaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 10:00 pmNo-one is criticising you CT. You think like that but I think your theory is based on paranoia & a detachment from reality, things are happening which are very real & being reported that way irrespective of our own personal feelings on here.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:59 pmThey’ve to get their content from somewhere. NO-which is why they have not been back for him
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
You're right, the targets have been spot on, players who will walk into the side and improve us. The problem is, we don't get points in the table for almost signings or maybes, we desperately need strengthening right now.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 10:01 pmLeeds have already put a bid in for Minamino and tbh I would imagine both would be out of our wage budget. There is absolutely no excuse for failing to strengthen in this window.
I must say however, I do like Pace's approach, travelling out to Croatia at the drop of a hat, shovelling snow on the Turf to try and get the Watford game on. He seems very hands on and involved, can't knock him for that.

Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
2 goals in 10 games, not a bad return from a wide player. Gudmundsson has 2 goals in his last 40, Lennon has 2 goals since 2016/17.
