It was him getting outside the car, entering the stadium etc. Something you would film when you buy a player or sort a contract extension.

Ryan Taylor: ‘Juventus still trying to offload Aaron Ramsey before deadline. Been offered around to Newcastle, Crystal Palace & others this month. Burnley stepped forward earlier in window but player wasn’t keen. They’re still pushing but any move would involve serious pay-cut.’

A loan move shouldn't involve a pay cut.
We just pay a %, Juve make up the rest.
He was never ever gonna get £400k a week again anyway, he fluked that.

On paper with Weghorst we’re essentially where we were at the start of the window and the glaring gaps in the team remain. CM and winger surely need to happen.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
No. Just a recognition that we need more than 1 striker to replace Wood given our results and performances this season. Clearly the club agree and have been looking for more.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 5:41 pmThe club is clearly damned either way in the eyes of some supporters this window

I suppose it depends how you look at it. For whatever reason, Chris Wood was greatly out of form in the last few weeks and we've now brought in a striker who will certainly be motivated in the short term at least.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 5:45 pmYep, we have effectively done no business if we don’t bring anyone else in.

Sounds much more promising.
Bild, Germanys’ best selling newspaper, now bring an update on the situation.
According to their report on Sunday evening, ‘everyone involved has reached a final agreement’, and the Dutchman will now become a Burnley player. There’s nothing left to be agreed, with transfer fee and personal terms all sorted.
The transfer fee is put at £12m, around €14.5m, and it’s stated a further €2m bonus will be payable to the Bundesliga club should Burnley avoid relegation to the Championship this season.
Bild explain there was a time when the Dutch striker imagined himself moving to one of the top six clubs in the Premier League, however, the chance never came and that’s seen him accept a move to Burnley.

All this talk about us needing to sign other players - lets remember our record with Cornet playing 60+ minutes. Basically very good. One win, hardly any defeats and a few unlucky draws. I’d like that CM or right winger but it isn’t vital. Replacing Wood was.
(I’d also suggest that if WW is an improvement he could bring other players into play in a way Wood didn’t)

Will you have a day off! There is nothing more the club could have done as has been explained to you over and over again. But if it makes you feel better keep pointing a finger like you support a top six club or billionaire owner, rather than live the life of a Clarets fan

I guess if we have only spent half-ish of the Wood money it technically allows us to compete in the loan market by being able to pay a high wage and any fees. I suspect at this late stage any other additions will be on loan

Absolutely agree. Whilst not knocking or belittling AP's efforts to bring Weghorst in, he's essentially plugging the gap unexpectedly left by Wood's departure. So ultimately we won't have recruited where we most needed it or actually added to "the group" and that's worrying.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 5:44 pmOn paper with Weghorst we’re essentially where we were at the start of the window and the glaring gaps in the team remain. We absolutely need some more quality and guile in midfield. Whether it’s a CAM, CM or winger it’s a necessity to add here. We might have Cornet back which is great but his injury record so far suggests he might pick up another knock when these fixtures pile up. Plus having options off the bench/rotation will help significantly. How many points did we give away early season when teams made game changing subs and we couldn’t?

Apparently we are where we are due to Garlicks lack of investment, Garlick had deals collapse at the final hour. Why are we making excuses for lack of investment now?

Agreed.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 5:52 pmI think swapping Wood for WW also at a financial profit is outstanding business but we absolutely need a right winger (and a CM tbh).
There's a phrase the 4x400m guys used when they beat the Americans in Tokyo in 1991.
"Give the man a chance to perform"
That surely has to be the case for Weghorst, if we aren't creating chances for him then he isn't going to score the goals for us to stay up, this was partly the case for Wood being so poor this season. If we can add another one or two players that can make a difference to the side we have every opportunity (with luck on the injuries and suspensions front) of getting out of this.
My concern is every time we have tried to be more expansive we are far more vulnerable to being hit on the break, so can't decide if a CM is the more pressing need or the RW.
Ideally both.

Just over 24 hours left to strengthen the team. I’m sure we’ve got some irons in the fire. Ending the window with no CM upgrade would be abject failure.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Is it lack of investment? Deal was done with the club a player but before the medical could happen to sign on the dotted line he decided not to. Pace travelled out to try and convince him. I'm nit sure what more we can do. As fir attracting players, we are in let's say a precarious position to do that, hence not a queue of agents trying offload players on to us. I 100% believe the club are doing all they can
