Such a long list, sad times.

I think someone is trying to be funny with the person called Mike on the list Tony, not really appropriate for gags.

Not really appropriate is it.
Surely they have the name of the person that put that forward

Thanks, and I've removed it from the list. That's what I received from the club. You would have thought they would have checked.

It was initially going to be the Leicester game and sadly that name was listed in the programme so I would think it will be in tonight too. Some people just don't know how to show respect.

Alan was a popular name around 70 years ago. Doubt you get many Alans in nursery now. Gone the way of Nigel.

Never thought I’d see the day that I’d have four relatives on that screen. Thank you to the club for arranging this again.

Thanks for your efforts Tony. My sister is on the list. Not sure if this is the same copy that is going on the screen but there's a mistake here: Jack James Stonbs, 0

Noticed that, Notts. Think the name Ian has gone the same way. Just on the point of names on there that are not legitimate it's a sad state of affairs when someone can find humour of such a crass nature. Absolutely disgusting. Not funny.

Is there any reason this wasn't done on Saturday, it being the first home league game of the year?

It was scheduled to be the Leicester game (which was postponed). I think when Man U was chosen the Watford game hadn’t been rescheduled.

I suspect it's about the mis-typing of the surname, rather than the age?

Indeed! all deaths are naturally sad for the family and friends of the deceased, but it really hits home when you see the youthful ages of many on that list.

Tony I emailed the club about this with not even a response, I think it would be nice for our players out of respect when we do this,to turn and face the screens with the names on, rather than have their backs to then.

Just don't think it looks right with their backs against our deceased fans..

I'm in my 50s and don't really contemplate death or my own mortality. Looking at that list and seeing so many younger people than me is a reality check. So sad to see young children in the list too.

I am now nearly in my 73rd year and thankfully feel quite healthy but who knows. So sad to see the numbers that never even got to my age.

You can add man United's champions league prospects to the list now after the second half performance today. Even Paul merson saying that we deserved the point.

Hope all those remembered were able to enjoy it in the afterlife. If they can somehow help us get something from the Scousers, even better.

My dad died before a christmas.

Utd were the first home game coincidentally.

Took mum on, it meant a lot to her.

Thank you Tony, this one of the best things the has ever done.

I suspect it's about the mis-typing of the surname, rather than the age?
Correct it's a typo with the name, the n should be a "b".

Know quite a few on the list - RIP

A fitting tribute to all those lost Clarets, including my longest known and best pal. I was also shocked to see how many there were, compared with previous years, bless them all. RIP

The list does not seem to be on the club website yet.

I think it is because it's popularity has become more widely known about. Very poignant.

Shocked to see such a long lost of fellow Clarets who had some affinity with the town and team. Brings a tear to the eye to think that all these people have now gone. Lovely that their names are recognised in this tribute and at the club. Well done.

Sad to see Jack Austin in there - opened the batting for Haslingden for many years and father of Ian Austin.

Thought united fans mainly were very respectful, fair play to them!

Agree

Even the the few noisy ones in the away end (whether intentional or unknowingly) were soon told to be quiet by their own

Whoever has done that for the club as a ‘joke’ needs removing from whatever position he/she is in. Disgusting, and I am not one in general for outrage culture - but out everything I would expect the utmost respect to be given to, for them to allow ‘Mike Litoris 69’ on the screen along with all of those fans that have passed is an absolute disgrace.

I assume Alan Woan is Ian’s father? An unusual name

One or two names on that list I recognise that I hadn’t realised had passed - very sad indeed

They probably didnt reply as they had their head in their hands in depair. Give the club a break. The players stood around the centre circle in time honoured fashion but some still find fault.

I can’t imagine it’s originated from someone in the club.
Someone in the club not noticing the name on the request maybe.

Disgruntled former employer perhaps?
