Don’t see a problem with it aslong as they are discreet and behave ?

A Liverpool supporting mate of mine and his Grandad went in the Bob Lord close to the Jimmy Mac, he was very complimentary about the atmosphere he said it was very loud ? It didn’t sound so good on TV.
I wouldn't have said the atmosphere was particularly good yesterday.

Did nobody go to matches before it was all seater, fans mixing in the beehole end wasn`t an unusual occurrence and there was very little trouble and that was at a time when hooliganism was prevalent, stewards are a waste of time in the situations described, just really a token gesture. Personally I have no problem with opposition fans, I go to probably about half of the away matches and drink in the local pubs with their fans without any problems, I understand if they become confrontational then that`s when stewards should step in.
I remember those days as well.
The FA cup quarter final in 1983 was such a family affair in the Bee Hole End.

The tribal nature of football is great. Not so much when it comes down to individuals.

I was in the away at Charlton when we won the championship. My Dad kept jumping up when we scored! :-D.
At the end of the game we were holding a massive banner whilst singing we want Roland out! Great day!

I’ve literally sat in the home end at OT for the last 4 we could go to, is it really that much of an issue?

It really isn’t an issue at all. Also I have to say, the Liverpool fans I met on the day were up for a laugh, really friendly and seemed to genuinely want us to stay up.

There was a bloke in the TO this afternoon complaining to the staff about Man Utd fans being sat behind him in the BL and singing during the game. Presumably the stewards didn't do anything to address the situation. He wasn't happy and said that it was just fortunate that it didn't kick off. The person serving him said that anyone who has a Clarets number is allowed to purchase home tickets and the Club can't do anything about it.

A dangerous precedent Pete but most of our stewards
in the home stands look like students at best. Away fans are not going to take a blind but of notice.

I had to intervene before the MU game on behalf of a
lady who had 3 drunk MU fans misbehaving sat right behind her before KO.

The steward initially said pretty much what you said above and I insisted he brought his supervisor over who was in fairness more alert to the situation.

Away fans ( with Claret Numbers) I can accept if they are acting a tad more graciously.

Stewards with a bit more life experience who can have a quiet word in someone’s ear may avoid a serious disturbance going forward.

I've sat in the home stands at Liverpool for a Burnley game.

It was clear to anyone around me from the conversation with my Liverpool supporting mate sat next to me that I was a Burnley fan, but I didn't jump up when we scored, I politely applauded their goal, and the people around me didn't give a toss.

It's all about your attitude. Away fans in home ends who give it the big one and antagonise the home supporters deserve whatever they get. Away fans who behave themselves I've no issue with.
