Maybe they should encase the light on one of those big concrete blocks they use outside buildings to protect them. The ones where the car hits it and the block doesn’t move an inch.
The traffic light
The traffic light
I see the traffic light
at the Casterton/Windermere avenue junction is being replaced again. Must be 5th or 6th time in the last 2 years it’s been wiped out by moronic speedsters. Must be costing a fortune.

There was a Vauxhall Zafira flying up the middle of the road and cutting in whilst traffic was queuing to turn up Casterton the other night

Re: The traffic light
Genuine question, not trying to start an argument, but have you all written/emailed the local mp with your concerns?
The powers that be will not do anything other than what (if anything) they are doing without people complaining to the right place

antony.higginbotham.mp@parliament.uk
Burnley mp email address
andrew.stephenson.mp@parliament.uk
Pendle mp
I’d send the same message to both as the area you mentioned is right on the Burnley/Pendle border

Re: The traffic light
We come along Colne road and turn on to Casterton going to the Turf, I always assumed there were cameras along there, certainly on Colne road but it sounds that’s not the case.

Re: The traffic light
The best option is probably local councillors. They'll be the ones in charge of this type of stuff (and because not as many people vote/don't always vote on party lines there is probably a better chance of them taking notice and action).Red Fox Rocks Socks wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 8:31 amGenuine question, not trying to start an argument, but have you all written/emailed the local mp with your concerns?

Re: The traffic light
Do variable speed cameras work in built-up 30mph areas? If so, Colne Rd should have them. Also, the offence of driving on fake plates needs to be escalated to an imprisonable offence.

Whilst not wanting to appear racist, as I’m not, the makes of cars listed above, and the area ( Colne Rd ), would appear to point to a certain demographic of the town’s’ population.

Re: The traffic light
More speed cameras won’t deter those who use false plates and documents.
