Half time came at the right time. Looks like a first goal wins game

How? You think his effort is questionable? He runs his socks off.
No, his effort is great, I love him. It's that 'give up' and 'head down' attitude we see from him when things are not going right for him.

What a tackle from Collins!

Good game of football - reminds me of a top end Championship game ( I don't mean any hidden meaning in that). Great watch.

Half Time 0-0
Clarets lots of play but little control from either side. Very frantic.
Burnley fans magnificent.

Weird, rushed game.
Convinced if we can just up our passing game even slightly, we can win this.

Not a bad half. Thought he have done okay apart from too much long stuff (this is clearly a directive from Dyche as at times our players have soooo much time on the ball but still go direct). McNeil miss poor, Cornet has been our bright and probably our best player. They’ve had a couple of nearly moments with Mbuemo getting too much space.

Appalling spectacle from both sides. Neither team remotely interested in the ball. Happy just whacking it long trying to catch a defender out in the air.

Like watching a game from the 90s.

Very even half. Two poor teams. For some reason we backed right off their midfield for the last 5 mins and nearly payed the price. No shots for us.

I too thought Cornet looked our brightest spark. A couple of nice bits from him. If he can start linking more with Dwight and Vout I think he can make something happen.

People slating Cornet for being ‘off the pace’

1) he’s not a striker
2) he’s probably never had to play in a team that just plays grenade football constantly

At least even you now recognise you were wrong about Brownhill and have given it a long over due rest. Ah well, on to the next one.

Did he? Every ball he put in went straight to a Brentford player, unless I am missing something? Our best chance was from a Roberts cross that Dwight missed the target with?

Apart from the10 mins or so covering start and end of the half we have easily been the better side and should be in front. Our decision making la ks composure at times though.

They are playing for a draw and trying to hit us on the break. Hoooooooof hooooooof hooooooof

Why do our full backs play so narrow?
Allows the wingers space and time, and the chance to come in on the blind side.

Not the greatest spectacle, using the long ball far to frequently. I’m fine with us playing long balls but at least mix it up a little more.

Roberts concerns me - he seems to give up a lot of space on their left which they’re exploiting. A lot of what he does seems to be rushed - needs a little more composure.

I'd bring Rodriguez on for Mcneil and place Cornet out wide.

He’s a significantly poor man’s Jack Cork. We need a massive upgrade on Westwood in the summer.

Certainly had the best of that half, but they did almost score. Some excellent defensive work.

Need to come out with our rails up, last thing we need after last week is to concede an early goal.

Just need to have a little more composure. We were a little bit off it first half. I like our full backs, but once again their all round game is one thing, but opposition managers know both are looking to advance and are not so comfortable chasing back; but that is the argument for and against Pieters, Lowton in the team. Given a good jockeying up at half time and the necessary luck we’ll win this game

If we actually played into his feet, you might see it, instead Westwood keeps punting aimless hoofs.

Cornet great movement and unlucky not to break through.

Westwood with more touches and passes than any other Claret. Just needs to find a moment.

Both sides lacking quality, probably due to fear, whoever can rise to their best level will win this, hopefully it is us. Clear heads and composure what we need.

Shocking display so far - ball like a hot potatoe and can't pass it for love nor money.

Embarrassing, I'm afraid to say. Two poor sides out there 1st half.

Here's hoping for better in the second half, but I'm not holding my breath.

Cork on will give us a bit more composure and i feel we get the best out of brownhill with cork in the middle. Lot of huff and puff but very little composure from both sides, Pope and our defence have been worked much harder for me at present
