Rolling Stones 60 Tour
Anyone here going? Ive just booked flights and hotel to do the Milan date at the San Siro. Thought it works out a decent way to make sure i see the ground before they tear it down.

Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
Will probably cost you a small fortune for a ticket but you know you are going to get a superb night
Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
They are on at Anfield in June.
Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
Saw them at Old Trafford about 4 (?) years ago. Think it cost about £120 and that was in the cheaper seats! A fantastic night though.

Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
Just searched on viagogo for Anfield and they have tickets from £227 up to £600 plus EACH. Moved on a bit and it gave the face value at £90. Would like to see them but way too much. Crazy prices.

viagogo are always the "we make a vast profit on ticket resale, and can't promise you will receive your ticket merchants."
Best not to use viagogo.

Now been on the BST-Hyde Park website. Stones tickets go on sale this Friday, 18th. No indication of tickets prices, as yet. No indication, that I could find, on who is on support bill, I expect it may be different for the two dates. The site is also promoting payment plans, so don't expect this to be cheap!Paul Waine wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 9:29 amStones have got two headliner dates at British Summer Time in Hyde Park. Elton John and Adele, headlining on other BST dates are already sold out.

If i was going to Anfield i think rear section of the Kop would be what i could justify.
TBF in 2018 the screens they had were bloody huge so it would still be a great view

I saw them at the Bournemouth Odeon once. I shouldn’t think it cost anything like that. The Baron Knights were the support act.

Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
True story this…my dad (aged 71) once went as a teenager to watch the stones in one of their early years gigs in Nelson (probably the Imp?). My Grandad picked him up at some ungodly hour after the gig, told him that he was wasting his money and that they’d never last….

I saw them at the Imp twice in 1964 for less than the equivalent of 50p a throw. Seen them many times since, including sitting next to them at Manchester Odeon for a Chuck Berry concert. The greatest r’n’r band ever!

I have two tickets for Anfield block 205 front row.
Unfortunately I can’t now go. They cost me £465 with AXS, but as they are still pending I can’t list them yet for resale.
If anyone wants them at cost I’m happy to sell them at cost.

Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
I've only seen them once - at Wembley Stadium in 1990. I'm not a huge Stones fan nor go to many stadia gigs (prefer intimate 30-150 crowd venues) but glad I went to that. Of course they were excellent began with "Start Me Up" finished with "Jumpin Jack Flash"; they were well practiced as this was towards the end of a mammoth world tour which kicked off with about 35 N American gigs through the 2nd half on 1989.
No way would I pay £100s to see them again though, £15 is a typical ticket price for the gigs I go to nowadays -though sometimes stretch to £25-£30 for the right act at a convenient venue. Definitely worth seeing them once though.

Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
I saw the Rolling Stones at Roundhay Park in Leeds - July 1982.
The Stones were going through a bit of a comeback phase with 'start me up' & 'undercover' but the main reason I went to see them was because of their legendary status as the 'old men of rock'
It was a decent gig but it's hard to believe that they were 1/3 through their career and had another 40 years ahead of them!
I'm sure a lot on here have seen that great movie 'Almost Famous' - it's set in 1973 and there's a bit in it where the band's new manager is telling them they've got to make the most of it while their fame lasts "because if you think Mick Jagger's still going to be out there playing the rock star when he's 50 you're sadly mistaken" - I watch that film about twice a year and it always makes me laugh

Mine are in an email attachment, ready to be printed off. It was bit of a gamble when I bought them really with regards to work.
Hopefully it’s ok to have put them on here, actually got them with the early code from this site.

Many thanks for your reply.
Will try that on Monday. I bought them directly from AXS which are the original retailer, face value £220 each plus then costs, so hopefully can recoup some money back.

Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
My parents saw them at Anfield last night. They parked in the car park that I suggested and have used on match days, where I am normally charged £6… They were charged £15!
They said that the concert was absolutely fantastic and the Stones played for two hours and 15 minutes non-stop.
They said that the whole concert was dedicated to Charlie Watts and that the response to this was unbelievable from the crowd.
Mum says that Anfield wasn’t best organised for a concert venue… They said that entry to standing on the pitch was through one walk away in one stand and that tens of thousands of people crushed alongside her (she was sat at the end of a row) throughout the evening, either accessing the pitch or using the facilities.
She said the concourses were unbelievably tight and that when you consider everything that Liverpool have gone through, you would have thought they would not put anything in place, where crushing could even possibly occur. She said that leaving the stadium, the squashing was unbelievable.
To reiterate, she said it was a truly unbelievable musical spectacle. She did though say that it probably will be the last time they see the Stones!

Anyone who is going to see them on June 25th in Hyde Park must now ( most likely) factor in the not insignificant impact of the planned rail strike.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 11:22 pmSaw them in Hyde Park,

London and roads approaching it are likely to be chaotic that weekend.
There are a lot of big events on.
Re: Rolling Stones 60 Tour
Millionaires charging people £150 for a ticket doesn’t sit right with me,besides smaller venues are way better than stadiums or arenas…I would much prefer to see a band at the trades club in Hebden Bridge than at a football stadium….sometimes you don’t get a choice if you want to see the bigger artists tho

Everyone going mad because they covered a Beatles song at Anfield.
No they didn't as "I Wanna Be Your Man" was written for The Stones by Lennon and McCartney, with The Beatles recording it later with Ringo on vocals

Absolutely fantastic, loved every minute of it. Seen them four times now over 30 years, their performance was as strong as ever.

Did anyone on here see the Stones at the Imp in 1964?
or
Jimi Hendrix in 1967?
or
The Beatles in 1963?
I'd like to talk to anyone who went to the Imp in the sixties to see the bands that played there and what the atmosphere was like.
