Best chance to get a point. Concede early, let them feel comfortable and nick one at the end.

We'll concede some goals with Roberts in defence. Consistently backs off his man every game. Would like to see Lowton back.
It's also time Dwight was dropped and Cornet given a run from the left.

The team deserve every criticism for performances this season, but why folk are having a go at us inevitably being smashed to bits by the greatest club side in world football is beyond me?

What did you expect today? They’re trying - it’s all they can do? Surely we all woke up fully expecting a 0-3/0-4/0-5? You might nicks one of these games 1-0 in 20 attempts - and our one off happened back in 2015 with George Boyd so I wouldn’t be expecting another!

I just hope Dyche adopts a similar formation from now till the end of the season (albeit, with different personnel in some positions).

Might be good at a lower level but he’s easily the worst right back we have deployed in all our Premier League years, for me (off the top of my head that would include Mears, Trippier, Bardsley, Lowton). Stands off far too much.

City got tested more than Cheltenham in the FA Cup last season than we’ve tested them today.

It’s just too easy. Time and time again.

Of course we all expected defeat today but to roll over for them is completely unacceptable.

Didn’t see it but I believe it. Cup games are a different feeling though, and let’s have it right, we have absolutely no confidence and are a shambles this season in general. We’ve been nailed on for relegation since about November. I just don’t think today can be a shock or worth getting bothered by though, is my point :D

Trying? they're not even doing the basics like pressure the ball/mark the man. Rodri 3 or 4 times wide open on the edge of our box, we have 3 central midfielders and not 1 was anywhere near him. Look at that Gundogan goal, Westwood and Cork jogging backwards.

We have been too focused on getting men behind the ball and blocks in rather than marking. Just leaves space for their midfield to create chances.

Trying within the confines of their limited ability to track the world class players surrounding then, would perhaps more be my point. They have no confidence, no belief and have (mentally) probably felt as we do walking out onto the pitch - “we haven’t a chance today have we?”.

I’m not saying it’s right, but it’s obvious isn’t it? Seeing Westwood and Cork trying to press Rodri before he shrugs them off and plays a reverse ball behind Kevin Long (making his first appearance in what, 18 months?) might make you feel better but it won’t change any outcome.

Maybe I’m being the negative one today in expecting exactly what I’m seeing but that’s the way it is. I’m very disillusioned, the whole team looks like it is too.

I do think he’s backing off too much but I find it ridiculous to read things like he’s the worst right back we’ve had in the PL. This is a lad stepping up from the championship into a shambles of a team who play the worst brand of football in the PL, and he’s had a very stop start season with injury and illness.

Cut him some slack. He’s played well at times and we’ve won games with him.

Cork and Westwood were jogging back for the 2nd goal mate, I don't care if you're world class or amateur, there's no excuse for lack of intensity and effort.

They can’t do anything other than jog back. They must be amongst the two slowest midfielders in the top two divisions.

You can't blame Taylor. For the first he was marking De Bruyne expecting McNeil to go wide and mark Sterling. Instead McNeil was ball watching and marking no one.

Ball goes from De Bruyne over Taylor's head to Sterling, unmarked. Taylor tries his best to get over.. Sterling back to De Bruyne and that's that... even when the ball was returned to De Bruyne McNeil still wasn't marking anyone!!

How can you have one player marking two world class players in the box? That's bad enough in Sunday league football.

You rely on others to come back and help. If McNeil is going to ball watch then it needed to be one of the central midfielders instead.

Simply, some players are not working hard enough. Taylor is not one of them.

The second was just giving them too much space and an unlucky deflection. If you take shots, you score.

The outcome of this game would not of changed if we had gone 442 but we might of had a sniff on the counter, we have had 3 weeks to come up with something, unfortunately we just don't have the coaching staff to change anything regardless of the opposition

Personally I've not seen him play well yet. He's done ok in some games. If this is Roberts playing well then the posters saying he's the worst right back we've had isn't far away. I'd get your eyes tested if you can't see the space in-between Roberts and his man all game.

Cork and Westwood were jogging back for the 2nd goal mate, I don't care if you're world class or amateur, there's no excuse for lack of intensity and effort.
I agree whole heartedly that there’s no excuse, but I truly don’t believe the two players we’re referencing here have anything ‘quicker’ in their repertoire anymore.
