Won't Bailey Peacock-Farrell be our first choice keeper next season if Pope leaves?jojomk1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 7:56 amFor the past 18 months this club has been going backwards at an alarming rate
We have an England goalkeeper who still looks like Bambi on ice with the ball at his feet ( thanks to good coaching ?)
He will be gone this summer with likely relegation, otherwise difficult to make World Cup squad
Replaced by Hennessey at 35
We have a back four where Roberts has not be seen to be any better than Lowton
Tarks and Mee will be gone leaving us with Collins and Long, neither of whom can play left hand side (excellent forward planning there)
Taylor will most likely go and Pieters (34) offered a new deal
We will start with Westwood and Brownhill in cm
JBG will be cover for McNeill who will be gone, and I would put £5 on Lennon being offered a new deal at 35
Up front I would not be surprised if Weghorst and Cornet have relegation release clauses on their new deals
Leaving us with Jay, Vydra and Barnes, all ooc (extension available for Basher if we decide to invoke)
And a dinosaur of a manager (who has been the main, but not only, reason for this shambles) being given another new 4 year deal
Whether we stay up or go down the rebuild needed this summer is a massive job
One that any manager would struggle with
No point in going back over the last six years or so giving pros and cons on past signings and past finishing positions in Prem or Championship
Living in the past on previous performances by the club has got us into this situation
Have seen nothing in the last 18 months that would suggest Dyche can improve this squad and would most likely see us stay in the Championship even after next season
Happy days![]()
Dyche is still the man for the job without a shadow of doubt.

Thanks wile when i read this I put £50 on Dyche to be sacked 12/1 - so happyWile E Coyote wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 9:51 pmfor all those criticising the team and sean dyche, it might be more appropriate to consider the nonsense you spout based on the facts.
How can blame be attributed towards him when we all know and have largely agreed that he has been restricted right throughout his tenure by inadequate finances.
The job he has done is incredible, and virtually done on a shoestring budget.
Do you actually believe he has been satisfied with backing he has received ?
Up against the billionaires running most of our opposing teams, he has got us up, kept us up and has had to oversee an ageing squad with his hands tied.
The media and all managers realise what a task it has been. He never gets flak from them because they can understand the obstacles he faces season in, season out.
All this **** about bringing in other managers is mindless dross.
Ive said it before, but you could give Pep or klopp the job here and they would inevitably struggle due to the same reasons dyche has.
Our players train and try their best, this season it just hasn't worked out as well as previously. Al the vitriolic abuse towards them is sickening. The opposite of loyalty.
Same thing happens on here time and time again, the haters kick up a storm after a defeat without having one decent alternative. Somehow they know better than the professionals in the game I suppose.
What ********.

Some people getting very petty.
Strange timing but gives the club and Dyche time to get sorted by next season.
It has appeared to be an end of an era and sometimes it’s just as well to bite the bullet.
I’m sure SD will have future success.
Our future is a little more precarious

You seem to have at real problem with anyone who expresses an opinion that you don't agree with on any thread.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 11:40 amMate you have been hugely disrespectful o all the threads. Give it a rest
The majority of fans I have talked to this morning are seeing this as positive move that gives us a chance of staying up. I for one am so happy that pace had the balls to make the decision to sack the manager who has been responsible for our abject performances for the last 18 months. And yes I do believe he is the best manager we have had in the modern era but his time was up and he needed to go. This is about now not what he might do in the future this is what about needs to be done now.
