Odd timing - few days before West Ham, 5 days after the Norwich result. Sounds like something more in this than just the results

Been a good manager and thanks for all you did SD, but time for us to move forward. Getting out the comfort zone is the only we we can move forward and become the Burnley we need to be. No need to be upset folks we neede a change and I appluad the board for having the balls to do so, SD was showing signs of weakness i.e Everton Comments ETC,talking about the sunshine being one of the reasons that affected our dicking at Norwich margins ETC ETC. Looking forward to some fresh blood. Duff, Joey ,or Rooney for me.UTC

My thoughts after Sunday were:

We're all but down and this Squad isn't up to staying in the Prem, it's not fully Dyche's fault because of the missed Transfer windows.
Worried about how we''ll do in the championship, with the players we'll lose but at least Dyche has a Track record there.

Now I don'y know what the F@@k to think

It's an utterly ridiculous decision (on the surface, but we don't know all the facts atm).
Personally I'd go for this Zelensky chap. He seems to be just the guy you need for a fight!

I'm gutted it's ended like this, but I'm not gutted he's gone. Maybe we'll get new manager bounce, maybe we won't. But it gives the new guy a chance to assess and rebuild for next season.

Timing horrendous and borderline incompetent. Would personally have kept him until we’ll into next season
Whatever the immediate reason surely straight after Norwich if this had been being considered
Fear for our owners ability to make a sensible decision now for the next 8 games and next season. Not a great time to be looking and minimal chance of the interim increasing our chances of survival
Thank you Sean for two promotions and 7 seasons in the top flight

My 5-year old has just burst into tears at hearing the news.

I am shocked at the timing, smacks of desperation but the results and some of the performances have been very poor for a while now so maybe a parting of the ways was inevitable.

Thank you Sean Dyche for all you have done for Burnley FC.

Like many others the timing is what I find bizarre, this smacks of panic by the owners, yes Sean's position should have certainly been reviewed in the summer, but potting him and all the coaching staff now is madness, especially 2 days before a crunch game, and even more so when we don't have a replacement lined up, at least when Leeds punted Bielsa they had a ready made manager to step in, now we've lost all the senior staff at the club.

1st real bit of trouble and the yanks pot him after all he has done, not exciting times more like dark days coming!

How do you know theres no replacement lined up?

If there wasn't, it sounds like he'd have been fired 5 mins after the Norwich game, not nearly a week later.

If they've sacked Dyche you'd expect they'd go for someone progressive a la Brighton, Fulham etc. I would be amazed to see big Sam here, what is the point of sacking Dyche to get him.

If we think it’s madness, hell knows what a good chunk of the playing squad think - I certainly can’t see it galvanising them, unless there were some divisions in the camp.

I am surprised Pace has done it (and the timing is strange) but I think it’s for the best.

This makes me think Pace knows what he’s doing.

The timing stinks-end of season if we wanted to change would have been the time.
I said several times that sadly he has not been accountable to anyone-suspect there has been a rift with the new owners recently when he has been challenged on team selection, tactics and performances. He will be a legend at the club but got very stale in the past two seasons with two questionable coaches working with him. You would have thought they would have a ready made replacement, if not shows how hopeless the new owners are. Smacks of Pearson sacking at Watford when they still had a chance of avoiding the drop.

Here’s what will happen… (IMO)

Unsworth comes in as temp manager till end of season, we stay up relegating Everton so gets job permanently. We spend next few years sacking manager after manager and end up in League 1.

Dyche will end up at Everton after Lampard gets the boot for relegation and brings them straight back up and into the best 15 years of their history ultimately winning the Champions League.

“Nurse, get my medicine…”

Shocked, but nearly every club in the top two divisions would have got shut of him months ago.

The script is set, we'll be revisiting the 80's very soon.

The gutless display against Norwich probably did for him.

Brave decision by Pace hope someone decent is lined up

If he had played Cork in the last five games he might not have received his p45 today stubbornness has been his downfall

Not sure if it's panic.
We lost to Norwich ....we had to win that game.

Maybe the clear out now is in preparation for a big summer of change and they felt he wasn't the man to move the club forward 🤔

I don't agree with it, but thinking about it I can understand it.

I'm very surprised at this. I said I was indifferent as to the direction we go in summer. However, I said that with the expectation Dyche would stay and be part of rebuilding the squad for the Championship. Anyway, he goes with my thanks for some wonderful memories. Nearly 10 years in charge of a football club is no small feat these days and two get us promoted to the Premier League twice and to keep us there as long as he has makes him a Burnley great. But no man is bigger than the club. Let's see what the near future brings. UTC.

There aren't any odds yet. This one even caught the bookies by surprise. As disappointed as I was in his lack of ambition with changing the team and use of substitutions, I'm gobsmacked and gutted he's gone at this point in the season. All we can hope for is that we get in a young dynamic manager who can turn things around and bring us back up next year and is supportrd in transfer dealings by the new owners.

This is dreadful news after all he has done for us. It is akin to the sale of Jimmy McIlroy in 1963. Even if we stay up it will be an
achievement which will be tainted.

Timing strange, can only think other things have happened, perhaps ALK asking for changes Dyche does not want to make.
Big thing out of this is it highlights the American charlitans, what happened to relagation not an issue, we have a plan. I'm seeing quotes on social media where pace is saying we can't afford to drop to the championship. We are in panic mode!

This makes perfect sense to me. We are relegated, everybody knows that. The new manager can get in now, assess the squad and hit the ground running over the summer

I dread to think what it has cost to get rid of Dyche

Emotion based upon nostalgia.

Let's be honest for a moment. In the big games we simply have repeatedly not shown up.
Norwich - home & away
Newcastle - away.
Watford - home
Brentford - away...

Not a single performance, not one....
