All the ex pros praising Dyche & all he's achieved. They've been there, they know.
Still trying to work out what the rationale behind this is.
If anyone is expecting a bounce from the team, I'm sure they are equally shocked & heads will be in the wrong place as they face West Ham team & fans who are buzzing from European success.
I fear we're going to get battered.

If Dyche is as good as some on here think, he gets a new job quickly, then it won't cost us anything, we just keep paying him for now.

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
To all those questioning the rationale, and the timing. Who’s to say there haven’t been conversations between Dyche and the board - with both parties of the view that they would part ways in the event of relegation. If that is the case then the timing isn’t particularly odd as it would give us a chance to bring a new manager in who may be able to turn things around in the next 8 games, or at worse get a feel for his squad and which areas need addressing in summer.
Dyche would receive a settlement, maybe more than he would if sacked following a relegation, and he also avoids having that relegation on his record.
I think the vast majority of us were in agreement that relegation seemed an almost certainty, so parting ways now is no more odd than at the end of the season. Not to say with any certainty that is what’s happened, but it’s possible.
Edit - I guess the speed at which we appoint a new manager will be quite telling.

Hadn't heard about this but saw it on the 1 o'clock news..unbelievable..I'm gutted .For me it's a jimmy mac type moment . crazy timing..I didn't have much hope of avoiding the drop but if it was going to be avoided it was SD who would do it .Don't see how the timing of this can be justified and it will have cost us bloody £ millions .

Exactly. SD record with Burnley in champ
Managed 95 games and lost 10. Find another manager with that record.

For some it appears like a bereavement without the wake.
Not being able to say goodbye and thank you perhaps is the hardest part for many, particularly after so long.
Maybe the club can arrange something.

One swallow does not a Summer make.
3 matches played against fellow relegation candidates Norwich and Watford and failing to score a single goal is a far better indicator of our season thus far.
Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
0-2 vs Norwich and a **** poor non show performance AGAIN. Make no mistake, we were absolutely doomed to relegation with Dyche here. I think we'll get relegated anyway but maybe ALK thought it was better to take a gamble that another manager could change our fortunes rather than sit back and accept relegation with Dyche.

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
Been taking this in and trying to make sense of the timing. First thought is we’ve shot ourselves in the foot, especially with the timing, I am another who thought Dyche would get until Christmas if we went down. My first thought of what might be behind it… new manager close at United. That perhaps mean that the likes of Carrick and Micky Phelen are coming available. Added to that Derby might be looking to get Roonies wage off the books following relegation…
For me this is the scenario that makes most sense.. a management team that have worked closely together for years. Seem to remember it is also where our other (hugely liked) goalkeeping coach also went?
I’m probably way off the mark but it would explain the delay with so much potentially decided in the next week or so. Sorry that is the best I can come up with, for what seems incredibly bad timing. Absolutely gutted, I saw wanted SD to find the magic formula in the run in. I hope we don’t have another thirty years of hurt as a result of this.

We'll see him again in the championship next season, because no Premier league club will take him

Agreed - if it was in their thinking, the time to do it was a month or two back (even better would have been pre the transfer window).IanMcL wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 1:55 pm"Disppointing results 8 games to go. Need to give someone else a chance to rescue the season"

Then the new manager wins every game, we stay up well clear of the drop.
Ok it’s unlikely but the point I’m making is that you, me or 99% on this board don’t know what’s gone on or is happening behind the scenes. Why not just wait and see what happens.

With probably the oldest group of players in the PL this season many of whom are coming to the end of their contracts perhaps ALK want another manager in place for the massive rebuilding job required.

As a glass half empty person I fear this day will be remembered when the motorcade went into reverse, back tracking the 22 plus years of success started when BK took over, backed Stan who was taking us back to Division Three (Four) and we motored up and up until now.

Possibly ALK have looked st the teams in pole position for promotion from the championship and they all play a style of football more akin to the Premier league style and that has influenced them. I still think though Dyche has had to work with a small budget that has influenced his style.

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
I think you may be correct. We saw the worst of SD publicly pre COVID when the league resumed and we had a number of players coming up to OOC ie Lennon, Hendrick. He was obviously very upset about it in interviews and a number of us thought then he would quit. Having seen this clear out I suspect all OOC will go including those with another year option ie Cork, and BarnesSteve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 2:03 pmI’d hazard a guess there has been a falling out over the offering of contracts.

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
Devastating news. We've just sacked a bloke who has performed minor miracles at our club at EPL level. Also, two Championship promotions on his CV as well. Utter, utter madness. I've said all along that we have to see where we are by November next season. Goes to show how desperate the current owners are. More like a mindless gambler, staking everything on the last throw of the dice. Makes me wonder just how screwed OUR CLUB is if we don't have the EPL money to service its debts.
A sad day for me, and to say I'm angry as **** over this, is to put it lightly.

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
There must be a wider context to this decision by the board as it all makes very little sense to those looking in from the outside.....including myself. I find it totally baffling.
A new manager with 7 games in charge? What's the point?
Since the new ownership deal we've gone from a club with £40m in the bank and no debts, to a board that have mortgaged the club to their eyeballs and don't seem to have any cash of their own to spend. And now they sack (disgraceful if that is what it actually is) one of the best managers we've ever had. Not just in a football sense but in a man managing, developing sense too.
How to win friends and influence people. Bonkers.

Snake oil salesmen move town quickly after making a sale.
Dyche stuck around and the oil has worked for many, many years.
