Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... reola.html
They have the option of signing Areola for £10 million and pay him £120k a week at the end of the season.
They're hoping they could get Pope for less than £10 million and his wages are already lower.
Pope's contract expires next summer, although there is the option of a further 12mths.

Good luck getting him for 10 million.
Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
A better option than Fulham.

Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
Yesterday's performance will have increased his worth considerably.
To a hell of a sight more than ten mil.

Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
No surprise given how he played against them yesterday.
But they will need to add another 5-10m id say.

Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
The problem is how much Pope would force it, particularly in a World Cup year.

Nothing less than Ramsdale went for.
Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
I could definitely see Pope at West Ham. I think their style under Moyes would suit him better than some of the other PL sides in terms of playing out from the back. It'd also get him back down into London.
Not sure on the fee though. Around £15m sounds right.

It would be a great move for Nick, he deserves it.
£20million should do it.

He’s the best shot stopper in the league, should cost a fortune!

He's under contract until 2025, 25yrs old and also on £120k a week...plus you forgot the Man Utd added premium to his value.

Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
Catch 22 in that if West Ham qualify for Champions League I dont think Pope will be good enough and if they dont then I cant see them wanting to pay £20m for an average to good Premier League keeper.
More chance getting silly money off a club like Fulham but I think after everything Pope has done for us we should drop our asking price a little if it helps him get a dream move to a big club like West Ham

I’d hope we’d get 20m for him though 30yr old keepers perceived as having “ poor feet” are not exactly in super high demand .

He’s worth so much more to us and looks back to his best recently, can’t see us getting over £20m for him and clubs will know we can’t afford to turn big sums down

It's a good job clubs looking at potential players check the stats then, because they say he's not that bad.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 6:57 amI’d hope we’d get 20m for him though 30yr old keepers perceived as having “ poor feet” are not exactly in super high demand .

Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
There's no way anything less than 30mill doesn't get gazumped. A true class act. I've always liked Fabianski, but I can understand why West Ham would want him after Sunday.

Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
Keepers ( well 1st team ones) are bought to fit into a managers playing style . Pope has great stats and hardly ever makes feet errors that lead to a goal . I watched him do keepy ups effortlessly back and forward with Westwood couple of yrs back and he could of been Neur or Navas he looked so relaxed .GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 8:19 amIt's a good job clubs looking at potential players check the stats then, because they say he's not that bad.

Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
Well he's certainly put himself in the shop window with Sunday's display, and even if we drop we should be looking at £20m for Nick.
PL experience
England squad regular
And 30 in goal keeping terms isn't old
He'll be a hard act to follow, and with Tarks also going, and possibly Mee also, our defence might look rather different come next season

Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
£10m for one of his gloves.
Re: Nick Pope being eyed by West Ham
I'm more worried about who replaces him, is WH going to be the answer, remain in the EPL, it's a no for me, relegation then probably yes he will.

Compared to what other keepers of a poorer calibre have been sold for £20m is unbelievably cheap

Happy to go with WH if we're relegated, can't really expect Nick to stay, he won't improve
his international prospects in the Championship.
