They have won 3 of their last 4 and the other one they drew. Leeds will be fine.

They could be in the bottom 3 come the Brighton match and playing catch up. Do we think 33 points will be enough to stop up?

They seem capable of a performance (winning at West ham and Wolves from 2 down) but not a good team. If we can reduce the point gap quickly then they're definitely in a battle.

Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
They’ve been decent under Marsch so even though their fixtures aren’t great, they are more than likely going to get the 4/5 points at least that would see them safe. Lampard has been more miss than hit, hence Everton are surely the ones we could hope to finish above.

Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
We need to get above one team to stay up. It doesn't matter who that team is buy as the nearest team is Everton, they're who Burnley fans are looking at.
But ultimately we have a job to do. If we don't get the points we need, everyone else is irrelevant.

Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
Tell you what. In an ideal world, it would be the Weeds going down, with us an Everton staying up.
But we just dont have that world.
Plus, you can imagine the media fuss at losing their 2nd Bestie behind the Salford Eleven.

Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
Leeds are definitely staying up and now they have a few key players back they'll pick up another 6 or 7 points easily.
Its looking like a dream ending to the season with Leeds staying up comfortably, Eddie Howe showing what a top class manager he is and Burnley doing the great escape without the Dyche shackles and playing some great football
If Carlsberg did season endings.......

If AV lose their game in hand and we beat them twice and match their other results we'd be 2 points behind them going into the last day of the season.

What happens if Aston Villa win their game in hand, beat us twice and Sean Dyche, with nothing better to do, solves the who shot JFK mystery?

Exactly it's all ifs and buts. Let's just take it one game at a time and see where that leads usDevils_Advocate wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 11:28 pmWhat happens if Aston Villa win their game in hand, beat us twice and Sean Dyche, with nothing better to do, solves the who shot JFK mystery?

They have 33 points and should be able to scrape 3 or 4 more at least - even from those fixtures. That should be enough

Leeds will be fine, had they had 3 points less you’d argue they were in trouble but I can see them getting 6-9 more points

I reckon they lose the next 4 and win the final 2 to go down on goal difference. That would be hilarious.

Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
I think they are only in trouble if us and Everton both go on really good runs
And if we both do that, then everyone else on less than forty gets dragged in as well

Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
If they lose at Palace this weekend they could well be dragged in, as you find it hard to see them getting much, if anything, from City, Chelsea and at the Emirates.
Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
There would be an almighty scandal involving match fixing during the 4-0 game in midweek with both Liverpool and man United being relegated two divisions and Watford drop down as the only side without a reprieve.

On the Sky coverage last night as well as saying that Everton could be in the bottom 3 before the Merseyside derby on Sunday, they said i guess you have to say that Leeds are not out of threat of relegation yet.

Like Lancaster says it needs both ua and Everton to pick up the points to overtake them. That's less likely.

Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
Leeds need 5 pts to get to 38 and their home games are against City, Chelsea and Brighton (who get the occasional super away win).
Far from certain. Even if they have been jammy with their last minute winners.

Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
As mentioned further up the thread, their big advantage as it stands is that they've got 33 points in the bag, five points clear of us.
They also seem to be able to pull good results out when they're needed, like away wins at Wolves and Watford in recent weeks. I really think they'll scrape together the necessary few points they'll need.
I still think its us or Everton.

Leeds will be fine, but if they hadn't nabbed those last minute winners it might well have been a very different story.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 8:58 amLeeds need 5 pts to get to 38 and their home games are against City, Chelsea and Brighton (who get the occasional super away win).

Given they've already amassed more points than that site thinks they'll finish the season with, I'd say it safe to state that site is talking rubbish.claretandy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 10:14 amThis site has had leeds going down for a while.

As Sean would say, one game at a time. Anything can happen in football and we can only hope.
Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
Because when I was a lad and mentioned Leeds, my dad would tell me to go and wash my mouth out with soap and water!
Re: Why is nobody mentioning Leeds?
Leeds will probably beat Chelsea at home, in what is one of the most bizarre, one sided rivalries.
