We have had very little on the left, almost everything has come through Mcneil so far. An early goal in this second half to fire us up and I think we could get something.

Genuinely don’t think we’ve been that bad
Recency bias, we have.
We've been shoddy but showed signs. Deserve to be losing but 2 is unlucky.

Not played bad. No breaks and a Coont of a ref. Pope has nothing to do except pick the ball out of the bet twice. McNeil has to score and Wout has had chances. We certainly don’t deserve to be 2 down. If Cornet is fit he has to come on for Lennon. Think we have been tactically naive leaving ourselves open at the back to simple thru balls. Villa have lots of pace

MJ main tactic of having wingers on the wrong sides so Dwight can cut in and shoot.
He hasn't scored in 50 shots this season.

Change it back.

OK not going top plan but only HT , we will come back in this one and win 3-2 , Max the time is yours . Now could do with a pen early on and not let Max take it but anything can happen in this game .

McNeil played very well again but that chance was absolutely massive and one I feel we will rue

Lennon still has pace but it's only useful if the ball is played in begind the full back. He gets it to feet every time though and just lays it off. And that's only about three or four times a half. Taylor is the one that usually puts our crosses in from the left. Just get Lennon off ffs

60% possession that half. That must be a first for us!

60% possession and 11 attemps to 5. Bet its a few years since we've dominated the stats like that

Playing well. Gave away a sloppy goal and not converting our chances.
Still plenty to play for.

Roberts has done a pretty crap job of supporting McNeil going forwards and it looked like McNeil did a crap job going back for the second goal.

Frustrating today as we aren't playing badly, but whilst Villa do have quality they aren't particularly playing well either.

Can't see any way back for us in this. Weghorst should have scored and McNeil should have either scored or assisted. One of the rare games that I don't think we've lost in in the centre of the pitch, we just switched off for two goals and haven't taken our chances. Really annoying.

Looking at those stats you’d think the score at the top was the wrong way around

My main issue has been the ref so far, absolutely appalling

Time wasting by Martinez has been horrendous, the ref has warned him on several occasions ( twice getting Mings involved) yet nothing is done, and let's not go into the two clean tackles where a Burnley player has clearly won the ball that Coote has deemed a Villa free kick, or the Digne follow through on McNeil (calf hight) that more often than not results in a red card.

So yes I do have issues with this ref
