1. Czechia
2. Netherlands
3. Uk
4. Estonia
5. Ukraine
But I liked Croatia best and it got knocked out in the semis.
Worst three Lithuania, Serbia and Australia.

Ukraine’s horrendous song wins it. It’s not a political contest though.

Re: Eurovision 2022
To be fair, the judges vote didn’t favour Unkraine, the UK won that so maybe not so political this year,
However the public gave them the sympathy vote.

Re: Eurovision 2022
Any other year, we basically win, which is great. All the talk over the years of “Hmph, all of Europe hates us, pointless entering” etc etc is finally proven to be ********.
I think we all knew tonight was an opportunity, however small, to show Ukraine all of Europe is with them. The result is no surprise at all.
I love Eurovision, absolute guilty pleasure! Me and my Wife have watched it together every year since we’ve been together. She forced me to watch it the first time, but I’ve been a willing participant ever since

Re: Eurovision 2022
To be honest Jedi, I do think there is a huge political aspect to voting and always has been. Maybe now we aren’t part of Europe we get votes we wouldn’t have got before, oiling the wheels as they say!

Re: Eurovision 2022
Don't over think things. The simple fact is that for the 1st time in absolutely years we've selected an artist who is relatively current, who's charted throughout Europe to a degree, is known to a very large extent throughout Europe due to a social media profile and not a has been or a nobody, coupled with (imo) the strongest UK song in many many years.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 12:15 amTo be honest Jedi, I do think there is a huge political aspect to voting and always has been. Re: Eurovision 2022
If you are looking at political sentiment, UK wins the Jury vote, third in the TV vote and gets 12 points from Eastern European countries that haven’t given us a point for years, France and Germany got nothing.

Re: Eurovision 2022
Well, then you should blame those who actually watched the show and voted. Half the votes are from the judges, the other half are from the public. The 'political' judges made the UK by far the winner, and Ukraine wasn't in the top three, or five if I remember correctly. It was the voting public that made Ukraine the winner.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 12:03 amUkraine’s horrendous song wins it. It’s not a political contest though.
Anyhow, who cares - it's just a bit of entertainment with kitch acts and rubbishy music. Thing is though, if winning this TV show has made some of those hiding out in bomb shelters a bit happy for an evening, then all is good.

Re: Eurovision 2022
The public vote was always going to effect the outcome. Ukraine got 431 points from a possible 468 from the public votes.
Moldova went from bottom 6th to top 7 following the public vote.

Re: Eurovision 2022
If it has Russians, normal Russians - the Russians sat at home watching this “contest” on their TV’s questioning why the whole of Europe has backed Ukraine in this, maybe it will start them questioning the information put out by Putin and his government as well? That’s gotta be a good thing right?

We also got 10 points from the French judges and a maximum 12 from the German judges. Our song was good for a change, for this kind of show. Also, the guy can sing live and didn't mess up. Comes across as a likeable, and apparently he was well liked by the other acts too.
