Real Madrid absolutely smashed from pillar to post by the 3 English clubs and have somehow won the UCL, incredible
Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Great performance from Courtois. Feels like he didn't get the respect he thought he deserved while in England.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Salah works 100 times harder than Mane off the ball.
Don't know if it was because Mane played down the middle (never a front line forward though) but it was so noticeable.

Fair play to Real, beaten PSG, Chelsea, City and Liverpool.
Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Should have lost all 5 games probably. And City should have put them away by half time in the first leg. Got to hand it to them for digging in but unbelievably lucky in truth.

That first half in the first leg against Man City should have seen them having no chance of coming back.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Liverpool would've beaten City, I reckon.
But once Real knocked City out there was only going to be one winner.
I know it's easy to say after the fact, but that's what I think!

Just seen a shocking stat for Liverpool in Cup finals this year. Over 5 and a half hours played and they didn't score a single goal.

Apparently the queues were down to Liverpool fans jamming the turnstiles with forged tickets according to UEFA and the French police. No doubt the truth will come out.

Perhaps if the supporters of the competing side got there deserved allocation this sort of thing wouldn't happen or at the very least be minimalised.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
It’s a tournament to celebrate the best in European football and UEFA want to spread the joy to people from countries that don’t get to experience the atmosphere of a final or see the worlds best players on a weekly basis. How many of those fans last night have already been to multiple cup finals?ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 8:53 amPerhaps if the supporters of the competing side got there deserved allocation this sort of thing wouldn't happen or at the very least be minimalised.
You will never be able to satisfy the demand from the supporter of the two finalists, if they had 30,000 tickets each there would still be 100,000+ wanting them (or is it only “real” fans that get them)

I honestly don't know why anyone would go to a cup final as a neutral paying them over the top prices.
Liverpool have been involved in 3 boring finals this year.
0-0 0-0 and 0-1.
You have to be a fan of one of the clubs or a freebie in corporate

Ancelotti and (like him or not) Mourinho are the two best managers in the sport. And of course statistically now Ancelotti is the most successful manager in Europe of all time.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 10:32 pmBrilliant coaching from Ancelotti. Can’t stand them meself but at least we didn’t get the usual time-wasting and play acting.
Klopp is good but some way behind. He may be a media darling but positive press can't hide that he's a few steps behind as manager and a deeply unlikeable individual. He's the perfect character for the bulk of Liverpool fans.
As for Trent, I'll never be convinced he's a fullback. Wide midfielder in a David Beckham or Ryan Giggs type role perhaps but he simply can't defend well enough and is protected massively by having top teammates who ensure that they have most of the ball most of the time.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Ironic that an ex Everton manager denied Liverpool the CL, didn't watch the game myself, but it didn't sound the best.
Strange that despite lifting 2 cups Liverpool may well consider this a poor season, so close to the quadruple, but ultimately missing out on the 2 biggest prizes.
Can't deny RM their triumph though any team beating PSG, Chelsea, City and Liverpool deserves to lift the CL.

You are correct the person may not be following and my comment was a more general one not necessarily aimed at this individual whomever it is. Abuse is probably to strong a word for what was written agreed, but it is nearer abuse than it is being positive and or constructiveVegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 5:52 pmhe might not be following him at all, twitter throws up all sorts of stuff. That's not the point though is it. It isn't fair you're right, but If you don't have a ticket, don't travel all the way to mainland Europe. If thousands of Liverpool fans don't try and use forgeries, there's no problem. Yet all I see is condemnation from Liverpool fans of police and organisation, how about condemning your own fans. I really feel for genuine fans who had genuine tickets, but they're blaming the wrong people.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 8:53 amPerhaps if the supporters of the competing side got there deserved allocation this sort of thing wouldn't happen or at the very least be minimalised.

It also depends on whether that were any forged tickets. I don’t get it but do many people want to condemn the fans because it’s Liverpool. There is going to have to be an enquiry into this, much better waiting to see what comes out of that.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 11:03 pmThat depends if they knew they were forgeries. What I can tell you is a friend of mine has been on tv today having been caught up in it. He was very condemning of the organisation. Another friend has told me it was a very scary and frightening experience.
It started on here last night with some standing in judgement before they had a clue what was happening. I find it quite sad that people would do that.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
I don’t think it is anything to do with being Liverpool. French football is in a terrible state, and British clubs are still seen as the worst, though even at its height Britain was tame compared to what we see in Europe regularly. However, the single biggest issue is it’s the power of the competition organisers, they don’t want their organisation facing questions… blame the fans. They cannot create a foolproof way of stopping forgeries in this day and age? Forgive the French, but ********. Fans will come back whatever they are accused of… blame them.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 11:36 pmIt also depends on whether that were any forged tickets.
