Possibly not but the reports were linking him which left that bit of doubtClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 3:45 pmI don’t think he was ever likely to go to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

CT some days ago you reported that you had heard something positive, then followed by something not so positive. Have you heard anything further, positive or (hopefully not) negative?

The defending, and the shooting!!! I’d back any of our current strikers to do better with those chances.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 11:49 pmThe one thing that stands out from that game is the defending is abysmal.
However, how entertaining to watch. Kompany is the polar opposite of Dyche. No idea how that’s going to work but at least it should be entertaining
Re: Name the next manager
To be honest, if I were CT I’d keep quiet after the amount of grief he gets for posting info.
Everything points to it being sealed though. Hopefully soon!

I hope you are right. Even though many calmer posters are saying there is no panic or rush, it really does need to be announced either way this coming week.

I will feel more positive if someone reports a genuine sighting of Mr Pace. Not Norman Pace from the 80’s comedy duo, our Alan.

Its surely down to the home office and whatever other governmental depts that deal with visa applications.
If they were going to be compelled to announce before then, it would have been done by now.

How can the club announce anything if it isn't completed yet? Even if it solely because we are waiting upon formalities.
Nothing is finalised until it is finalised. Doesn't pay to speculate.

Re: Name the next manager
Everyone who is everyone said he was coming more than a week ago
I don't know why people are bothered if it turns out its not happening, as everyone who is everyone would have been wrong, and there is nothing wrong with being wrong about stuff as long as you don't pretend that you are right
I'm still struggling with the idea that people are awaiting this board to confirm it before they will believe it

Has no one perhaps realised that had we announced it in the last few days it might just have overshadowed the Jubilee celebrations?

Anyone else watching Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In on channel 4?
Shouting at people doesn't seem to have done his teams any harm. Maybe that trait of Kompany might not be a negative.
Surprised to hear that Fergie shouted at the youngers even more than the pros.

Come on, let’s get past the visa thing. It’s nothing to do with that. He would get one almost immediately and his wife is English. That is just a smokescreen. Hopefully Pace gets this all done next week. If not even the most optimistic of us should be a little bit worried.clarethomer wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 6:11 pmIts surely down to the home office and whatever other governmental depts that deal with visa applications.

Re: Name the next manager
I’m not saying it’s holding anything up at Burnley Tony. I’m just saying that the visa thing is a smokescreen. If the process is that slow are we happy to wait until July until it is granted? Of course not.
If there is no communication from the club next week regarding the manager vacancy then we should all be a little bit concerned.
Re: Name the next manager
I’m not wholly convinced that I want him to come here. It seems to me to be a gamble (and yes, every appointment has risk) greater than I think we need to take.
I hope it proves to be an inspired move, I’m just not convinced by the lack of experience and don’t have enough confidence yet, in Pace to have made right decision.
I will love it if I’m proved wrong on both fronts.

Still silence from the club, Nixon still adament it's at work permit stage but now some reports suggesting VK is on the shortlist to replace the manager at Nice, should he leave for PSG as expected.

Re: Name the next manager
I translated the article and to be fair, it doesn't really say much other than speculate VK's name for Nice due to no announcement as Burnley manager yet. Worth adding another two names are linked there too, Marco Rose and Lucian Favre.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 7:18 amYes I saw that, no idea how reliable the source is but with over 50k followers you would expect it to be relatively accurate.

It’s way past a joke at this point, whatever level peoples undying love of ALK is.
Season starts next month. No manager. No retained list. No coaching staff. Put the debt and everything that we don’t know the true ins and outs of to the side and look at what is clear and right in front of us. The silence is absolutely deafening.

Re: Name the next manager
“Kompany is now in talks with the French OGC Nice.
According to RMC Sport, Le Soir and Het Laatste Nieuws, Kompany is talking to the Ligue 1 club. That is striking, because his appointment at Burnley seemed almost complete. Nice is looking for a new trainer because it seems to soon have to say goodbye to Christophe Galtier, who is in the interest of, among others, Paris Saint-Germain.
The Nice leadership has spoken with Kompany, reportedly already last week. According to HLN, the interest arose mainly thanks to the company INEOS, which owns Nice. It is unclear why Burnley/Kompany seems to be canceled after all.”
Seems to be more than speculation?

'While he seems to be on his way to the English second division team Burnley for a while, it could just be that Vincent Kompany is still looking for sunnier places. After all, the French top division OGC Nice - fifth in the Ligue 1 last season - would see bread in our compatriot.
Trainer Christophe Galtier is in the spotlight at other clubs - including PSG - and so Nice already wants to arm itself against a future departure. The club board could have even sat down with Kompany last week to explore the possibilities. Interest would mainly come from the British company INEOS, which owns the club on the Côte d'Azur.'
