Look
So he's talking to a team that still have a manager?
Its another unverified account that is being shared on twitter btw
However, we do need to sort this out one way or another

It’s in numerous papers online reports as well that’s he held talks with them. I shared some of the linksLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 7:40 amLook

I can imagine Newcastleclaret93 has been frothing at the mouth given the board outage over the last few days. It almost got to the point where he was contemplating leaving his bedroom and venturing outside!

If the only possible thing left was getting a ‘yes’ from the home office (99.9999% certain he gets one) then the club could just announce the signing ‘subject to work permit approval’.

A few days taking slow deep breaths into paper bags will have been needed. Sadly within minutes of the board working again he is destroying another keyboard in his desire to peddle anything he can find that someone might take as bad news.ClaretInLeeds wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 7:43 amI can imagine Newcastleclaret93 has been frothing at the mouth given the board outage over the last few days. Re: Name the next manager
Iam not against the board as much as some on here, but this has to be put to bed ASAP. I cannot believe they would leave it this long unless it was all agreed, there have been no mentions at all about anyone else being in the frame, so if it doesn't happen soon, something must have gone badly wrong at the last minute.

I’m sharing the latest news just as RV has. Why don’t you just block me if you have such a problem
Re: Name the next manager
I’m sure I read only days after Dyche was sacked that Craig Bellamy had stated that VK was going to be the next manager and that he would be joining him as one of the coaches.Be interesting to see if that’s the case.

Re: Name the next manager
Presumably we still have a head of player recruitment and a chairman in place .We need to get Ben Mees deal done and be active in the ooc contract market which opens next week.
Imo we should offer for Chris Wood on loan as Newcastle are lining up new striker buys.

Other rumours floating around that VK work permits are done and deal now just needs to be announced. Seems to be coming from a normal fan on twitter.

Didn’t the favourite for the BMG job,
Favre, turn it down as he didn’t want to work back in Germany. He’s also listed for Nice so you’d think that maybe he’s had the nod that he’s in line should they need a new manager.

Re: Name the next manager
I’m at the point where Iv lost interest now to be honest. If he comes great I look forward to seeing what he can do, if he doesn’t I won’t lose sleep over it. Perhaps this is the reason people seem to be going for young up and coming British managers, no way on this planet does a basket case of a club like Watford go for a British manager from league 2 unless they feel appointing someone from abroad is too much hassle or too difficult.
Re: Name the next manager
I agree that it’s getting a bit silly now. Usually I’d defend the club but I’m not sure that this set of owners know what they’re doing.
Re: Name the next manager
If it turns out not to be Kompany, will we have to wait another few weeks to get a work permit for someone else? Or will we have to restrict ourselves to UK citizens?
I know the Home Office is abysmally slow at present. My brother has been waiting for 2 months for 3 Ukrainian refugees, but the Home Office's office in Poland is unwilling to fill in the piece of paper that they need. There's no point of principle involved, they're just too busy or too idle. (They won't email it either.) They're working in the "rules are rules" basis, better three people stay in a refugee camp for months on end than a single piece of paper be incorrect. The point being, if they can't be bothered pulling their finger out for Ukrainian refugees, will they make even a token effort for rich men in Belgium?

Re: Name the next manager
If Kompany does not come to Burnley now (for any reason, including red tape/bureaucracy which our lawyers and legal analysts - if we have any/assuming Pace hasn’t sacked them - should have cleared as ‘will be fine’ before we even went for him) Pace will look an idiot. Simple as that. No if’s or buts - you put all your eggs in one basket then that basket best have robust wicker and you best be ready to serve up an omelette.
Re: Name the next manager
Well you’ve been pretty outright in your view that Kompany is 100% joining, claiming that it’s been since a week or so ago (when it started breaking).Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 9:12 amBecause there was no evidence to suggest you were right
Now we’ve got reports suggesting Kompany met Nice last week.
That would contradict that we are just waiting for a work permit wouldnt it.
My point was, if the deal is 100% done, and it’s just a case of waiting for work permits, they could just announce it, the fact they still haven’t, to me, suggests otherwise.
Re: Name the next manager
It's really not looking like VK will be taking over. Like others have said, this can't be down to just a work permit. And with Nice now rumoured to be wanting him, we'll soon be putting this to bed. Time to start thinking of the next person it could be.
Mike Jackson to stay on at 12/1.

Agree, any appointment is a risk but although VK unproven, you have to consider his contacts ( namely City), amongst others to attract players to a newly relegated Championship club. Ouch.
I can't really see any credible alternative really.

We really do need to hear something now, either the announcement of an appointment or an explanation of what is happening.
I am coming round to the view that Mr Pace is out of his depth here.

Re: Name the next manager
That’s what I thought.
Nixon is pretty sure on it though.
What do you think is going on?
Re: Name the next manager
There's only really Jackson remaining in charge now. The others in line either won't come now we're in the Championship or would be a bigger risk in that they haven't even managed in the Championship, let alone the Premier League. At least Kompany would have had contacts. It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 10:30 amAgree, any appointment is a risk but although VK unproven, you have to consider his contacts ( namely City), amongst others to attract players to a newly relegated Championship club. I still think it's work permit and Pace just doesn't see any value in open communication.
I'm far from being a Nixon guy but he doesn't just make stuff up. Someone is telling him it's work permit.

Re: Name the next manager
I heard off someone I trust not to string me along, that the players have been told VK is the new Burnley manager.
He has always been spot on with injuries, line ups due to his close connection.
He didn't stamp when it would be announced as his friend won't get that info, just the player(s) have been told VK is the new manager.
So much so I'm inclined to take the 1/3 on VK available on 888
If work permit isn't the issue I'm struggling to connect the dots as to what is the issue.

Re: Name the next manager
If I had to guess I’d say Kompany was well up for it until he got under the hood of everything wrong with our club, and realised it would not be anything like the ‘sure thing’ promotion he arguably needs on his CV.
You’d think transfer strategy and budget were top of any agenda in talks, and maybe that conversation was a lot more negative than Kompany had assumed. Again, absolutely pure guesswork from me but I reckon he’s kept us as a fallback option if one of Monchengladbach, Nice etc didn’t transpire. No way it goes on this long without a word from anyone at the club, and with so much up in the air over something as trivial as a ‘100% guaranteed’ work permit issue. Why would we say absolutely nothing? In the days before social media when the club was on its arse we still kept the fans updated throughout the protracted attempts to sign Luton Shelton, as I recall (I.e, we’re at this point now, we’re appealing it now, we’re going to court about it now, etc etc). I don’t expect chapter and verse, but IF it was the only issue then end the constant negativity and uncertainty surrounding the club by tweeting out a simple:
‘Vincent Kompany has agreed to become our new manager on a three year contract. Due to Brexit regulations, the work permit permitting his arrival has a longer turnaround time, however this is a formality. Vincent is already engaged in active discussion with our board of directors on contract renewals and transfer strategy. More to follow soon!’
Would that be hard? Really?

As much as I agree re work permits / announcement, I don’t think they could say this, as it’s kinda stating he’s already working, when, he isn’t permitted to work yet.jedi_master wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 10:41 amVincent is already engaged in active discussion with our board of directors on contract renewals and transfer strategy. Re: Name the next manager
If the players have been told (and I have no reason to doubt Macca) then that would not have happened unless it was an absolute certainty and the announcement was imminent.
So I assume that either it is announced today or tomorrow at the latest.
Bookies likely keeping the betting going as people will see the Nice rumours and it offers a chance to make a few extra £ on the others in the market?

Yesterday.
I'm not getting in to a debate of who what why or when.
Just I trust this lad and he is always been on the money, so his form is good.
I just hope he is correct, or I'd look a bit of a fool ( I wasn't going to share on here )
Maybe CT has some different info or opinion.
Thats all I'll say on the matter of VK, what will be, will be.

I can't see Nice paying him 2.5M a year. That's reputedly what BFC are willing to pay him.

Re: Name the next manager
Time is ticking, and we need this resolved one way or another this week, it's dragging on far too long now, and we're wasting valuable time which could be put to much better use.
We still don't have a permanent manager in post, numerous OOC players, seemingly many others who can't wait to jump ship (Weghorst), and as yet not many concrete links to any incoming transfers, it's not a good look, and it's hardly going to help us in selling the club to potential new signings.

It’s the 2.5 million a year that concerns me for an unproven manager. Let’s hope it’s not another expensive mistake by ALK.
