They're well drilled and very organized and that was enough to completely pick us apart.

But to put Southgate's excuses in context, does anyone think Callum Styles (relegated from the Championship) would have made the England starting lineup? Well, he started and formed part of a side that just thrashed England.

That England squad team probably has a transfer value close to £400-500 million versus a Hungary side worth maybe £70-80 million max. It was like watching Dyche's Burnley versus a disorganized top six side. They knew exactly how what their game plan was, stuck to it and Southgate just jumped into the traps.

I would rather he was successful but he's just uninspiring. You can only ride a crest of a wave for so long. I mean he has got us to a semi final and final but look back at them runs and we hardly put in real stunning performances. We did enough. And just doing enough will stop after a while. See Dyche. He’s been in the england setup since 2013 with the u21’s then taking the srs on in 2016. I’d say that we still don’t have a recognisable way of playing or style , or a settled team. Literally every big nation has used this ''tournament'' to constantly rotate players, nobody is playing their main team each game apart from the small worthless nations like Hungary. I'm an expert and couldn't name some of the young kids in the Italian setup.

It's not that easy to throw a bunch of random players together at the end of a long season and expect them to perform in a pre-season friendly when they should be resting ahead of pre-season with their clubs.
