Graeme Bailey is saying Newcastle are showing an interest in both Cornet and McNeil.
Cornet - over half of the teams in the prem have enquired about his services (newcastle expected to struggle given the number of teams chasing his services).
McNeil - Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle amongst teams enquiring about his services this summer

Oh completely agree. I hope we somehow keep him as he’s perfect for VK system and would rip up the Champ. A season out of the spotlight, playing well might do him some good too mentally.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 9:40 pmMcNeil is top quality he will show it in a better team
Worth mentioning Graeme Bailey also said we will accept a fee of around £12m for Pope. There are going to be some shell shocked posters on here.

So a keeper who has effectively proved he is one of the best in the premier league and in his prime is worth the same as someone who's never played in it with potential?!Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 2:25 pmYour buying potential there.
In comparison Pope had not even made a football league appearance at the same age.
I've added you to my ban list

I can believe Newcastle want Pope, I can’t believe we will only get £12m from the worlds richest football club. If hey want him they will have to pay up.
One of the benefits of the MSD news is that it shows clubs we don’t need the fire sale some were predicting.

I think its astonishing some of the release figures being suggested. As for Pope I would expect Burnley for at least double that amount, without knowing, I cannot imagine Pope’s contract having a particularly low release… why give Burnley the option to extend - it could be, but does not seem right to me… shows very little faith in Pope by anyone. Far from the case at Burnley I think its safe to assume.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 9:53 pmI can believe Newcastle want Pope, I can’t believe we will only get £12m from the worlds richest football club. We will have a price for every player. We always have.
I’m confident through that price won’t be £12m.

So Bailey says in his article Pope has 12 months left on his contract with Burnley having an option of another 12, so we have 2 years left then and his sources tell him we will accept £12 mil? Ok then.....

Maybe the manager doesn’t rate him
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
How do you not know we still owe Garlick money? simple maths from the accounts and reported sale price isn't too difficult, not to mention the fact Pace literally confirmed instalments were in place with the outgoing directors.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 10:45 pmI don’t know, is there? doesn't mean it has to happen immediately though does it ? As Pace has seemingly come up with a deal with MSD who is to say he can't do the same with Garlick and push it out ? I don't know, just asking the question

Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Pace doesn't seem the sort to think short term. He knows Pope staying boosts our chance of promotion, and he also knows promotion boosts his chance of repaying the debt. So the chance of Nick going on the cheap are non existent are far as I'm concerned.
It would be a miracle if other clubs weren't sniffing around, given Nicks ability and form, but unless it brings in enough money for VK to strengthen in other areas he deems necessary, it would be pointless to let him leave.
I also don't think Nick would be over bothered about playing in the championship. Southgate isn't picking him for England, no matter who he plays for.

With respect my comment was a direct reply to this sentence…” MSD news is great but isn’t there still a large installment to be paid to Garlick this summer?”.
Is there an instalment due this summer? Who says, where does it say it, how much is it? Like I say nobody on here knows.
Also, as I’ve said on a few threads. I’d be surprised if monies owed to Garlick and Co haven’t reduced upon relegation. They may increase again if we are promoted but most business deals cater for such eventualities so that the buyer is paying a fair price both short term and long term.

With the reports of PL interest in McNeil, how much do you think we should be asking for him?
For me, he’s integral to our promotion hopes so I’d be sticking a £25m price tag on him.

At his best he is a 40million player, but often he's only a 5.
The enigma that is Dwight.
I hope VK can get the best out of him, so staying here could be better for him as well as us.

I'm completely lost on the MSD thread, but I know enough to get that we had x in the premier league, and we owe Y, and that our income is now W and then will be Z, and that our outgoings will have to drop each season to match those figures, and that is even before you counter in that there is a huge loan that needs paying off
Anything that helps the average fan get some idea that we have financial issues I'm all behind though!

But never the less, they are saying Leeds are heavily interested in Collins and a bid is expected imminently

Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
And that price will just keep going down as Pope's contract runs down
Playing hardball over Tarks didn't stop relegation and how much potential money did we lose there - £20-30m ?
Pace is indeed a money man and may therefore be tempted by an offer even at £10m
And no crystal ball is saying we are going straight back up if Pope stays
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Unless the relegation clause rumour is correct, I can’t see Leeds affording Collins. I can see us wanting £30m+.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 7:56 amI know people don’t like Talksport.

Don’t really agree - they can be interested and try a lower offer / one made up with loads of future add ons etc. Surely this release clause would have been picked up by now in the media, given the amount of links to Collins.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 8:01 amI assume Leeds wouldn’t be interested if there wasn’t a clause.

That’s a good point, I just think Leeds will know it will take a massive bid if there’s no release clause.

In some ways, losing Tarks and Mee I can handle because we’ve had their best years. If we were to loose Collins I’d be devastated. Damn Mee’s intury!!!!
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Collins could do better than Leeds for me. If we have put a relegation release clause in a contract for a 20 year old then something has gone wrong. Looking at the deals with Cornet and Weghorst though, it wouldn’t surprise me.
