Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Collins Close to joining Wolves 20m....source John percy, so probably right
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Well, we knew it was coming. Bit of a low fee, unless the release clause was true after all…

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Surely some add-ons involved in that. £20m would be a bargain.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
McNally, THB, Egan Riley, Long, Thomas.
Can see the argument for one but not sure we’ll go for it.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Jason O’Connor did say there was a 20m release clause…

That's a sickener. He was one of a couple of players of genuine quality I hoped we would hold on to.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 4:50 pmhttps://twitter.com/JPercyTelegraph/sta ... 0064314369

That will be true. £20.5m when Lewis O Brien is going for the same. I feel absolutely sick about that!!!!
Selling the Crown Jewels pretty cheaply I think.

£30m for Pope and Collins genuinely makes me sad.

What did we pay for him-if its £15m then the release fee is disappointingly low

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Add ons and sell on clauses to be added to that
I assume that he's told the club that he wants to leave, and its in everyones interests to get it done as soon as possible
Course, there will be other reasons why we might have to sell him, but we all know what they are by now

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
If his release clause is £25m, why not just say 'meet the clause or f*ck off'?

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I refuse to believe we’d agree to a £20.5m release clause for a player we signed for £12m.
Either the initial purchase was laughable or this sale is. Stoke have a sell on included so will we even make a £5m profit here? Mental.

Got to agree with what has been said regarding the defence
We are missing experience in the spine, and that is going to be an issue

Whats happened to that brilliant ability to get top dollar for our players. We were awesome at squeezing out every penny-maybe we can do a deal to get a Wolves CH player in. Did they not also show interest in Connor Roberts too

I hope both clubs are low balling to the media , so they don’t show their hands to the rest of the football world .

If Vincent Kompany as an ex central defender can't deduce that then there isn't really much hope is there?

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Should never have been leaving in the first place. If that really is our decision, it’s a bloody joke.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Would be gutted to see Collins go especially at that price. Our most valuable asset surely. Puts those valuing McNeil at £25m into perspective.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I’m very excited about this season but a CB partnership of McNally and THB doesn’t scream promotion. Maybe in a couple of years time?

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Wow and there is Liverpool holding out for £25m for Nat Phillips who was on loan at Bournemouth. Know who I would choose
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
People want us spending 10-15m on a striker, plus Cullen plus Muric, not possible at this level without a sale. Lets see what happens from here with incomings.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 5:02 pmReality of relegation, and the reality of having cash issues unfortunately

Cornet to follow Collins out the door in the not too distant future I'd expect...

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Dunno. Im hoping both Pope & Collins had relegation release clauses. If they did, fine, but otherwise we’re doing a bad job on the selling side.warksclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 5:00 pmWhats happened to that brilliant ability to get top dollar for our players. Have to say, our strategy atm appears to be: let go all the OOC/ageing players (no real issues), sign youth team/L1 prospects (I’m struggling to get fully on board with that), sell all our saleable assets quite cheaply (v bad, massive “cannot turn down” fees fine - but these are poor).
Things can change but I’m not at all confident about the forthcoming season as things stand. Excited but not confident.

Collins, Pope and Cornet - I expected to lose all 3.
