For the good drivers the route is M6, M56 then the A49 that takes you right into Shrewsbury.

The A49 is a great road to drive if you know how to handle your car and are a good driver
Spot on. That’s the way I travel up to the Turf in reverse when I take my car or motorcycle.

Good to see Sat Nav doesn't take you this route as it keeps the road quite and the duck eggs off

I still use the old fashion way with map, compass, sun and stars. Watching Burnley away all these years I know the country like the back of my hand

Same here, however with new grounds/1st visit like Shrewsbury it is useful to put a sat nav on or Google maps to find out where to park.

Is there something else going on as there don’t seem to be any hotel rooms or AirB&B in Shrewsbury on 15th July!!

Worth looking at Telford for a hotel if you’re driving down

Just spoken to the ticket office re posting out of the tickets. They have only just received them from Shrewsbury so are hoping to post them out by close of play today. It could well be they don't arrive until Friday. I have had to ask them to post ours to Shrewsbury so I can pick them up from their ticket office as I am away from tomorrow.

What a shambles, if they arent posted until today then very likely many wont receive them given the current state of Royal Mail.

Should have been pay on the gate.

Thats strange because I bought my Shrewsbury ticket at the ticket office at Turf Moor on Monday.
They certainly had tickets there then.

Would have been a hell of a lot easier to just make it pay on the gate.

Of course. Suppose it keeps people in a job posting tickets out but wasting resources at the same time.

You can’t pay at the turnstile - you may be able to purchase a ticket on the day.

I went in to buy a ticket yesterday and the lad behind the counter said they didn’t have any and you could pay cash at the ground. Does that mean you can buy your ticket right up to kick off?

Heads up for any clarets driving to Shrewsbury for this match. Best parking is just down the road from the ground 5 minutes walk away Pritchards Van Hire. Postcode SY3 7QZ. Costs a fiver. After you have parked if you want a beer there are two options, there is a pub just over the road The Brooklands. Or for the more discerning craft beer drinkers there is an excellent little craft beer tap right next to Pritchards van hire called RAD beer. For the non drivers they serve an excellent range of craft beers and German pils and welcome well behaved visiting supporters.
Thanks for this Jamesy. Just checked out that RAD beer and it looks excellent - sells one of my favourite beers (Verdant), but loads of good stuff. Will park where you recommended and nip in there for one!

I ordered 2 adults and 2 kids tickets on Monday. They arrived today....well I say they...only one was in the envelope!

I rang the ticket office and they apologised and said they had no idea how that happened and said they would inform Shrewsbury/do a reprint and I have to collect them from Shrewsburys ticket office tomorrow.
I'll be ringing Shrewsbury around lunchtime to see if they have them/know of my situation so I can if need be get back onto our ticket office.

Good man, the menu is ever changing as you would expect. I like my Verdants and can’t honestly remember having a bad one of theirs. With the others on the menu they will always give you a sample to try before deciding. If I wasn’t in Cyprus I would probably have been in RAD tonight. Enjoy the beer and hopefully the match. UTC.

Just another heads up for those coming from up North by car and parking at Pritchards. Just before you get to the parking there is a big tricky ish roundabout called Meole Brace Island. When you get to it from Sat Nav directions there will be three lanes you need to be in middle one saying Belle Vue/Town Centre. You will then stay in the outside of the two left lanes and go over a small bridge and will see a BP Garage on your right there will be traffic lights, turn right and then looking directly ahead you will see Pritchards van hire and Rad. Someone will be there to relieve you of a fiver and will show you where to park. On leaving the parking after the match you will hit this roundabout again but this time you will need to be in right hand lane once you have turned left out of Pritchards and this will take you on the road straight through the middle of the roundabout up to the A5 and onto your route home.

No tickets left at BFC ticket office as of this morning. Can buy them from Shrews ticket office apparently.

Not the right thread for this but apparently the kit leak is the real one. No sign of it in the club shop yet though.

Managed to speak to someone at Shrews ticket office. They advised there will be some tickets available at the away ticket office (at the away stand), not cash on the gate. Away ticket office opens at half 5 and reckons there should be a decent chance of getting a ticket.

Well done getting through. I struggled last week when I was trying to find out whether we were getting tickets and this morning found it impossible. We must have been fighting each other to get through.

Lovely afternoon for em to be sitting outside the Boathouse. Make sure you tell em to get to the bus station for just after half five to get the 27 service up to the Brooklands!

Thanks Jamesy for the advice - we used Pritchards for parking - was excellent given how close it was to the ground.
