Thomas playing the whole 90 is interesting, wonder if he’s impressed Kompany in training

Tucker best player on the park second half I thought. Looked the most comfortable on the ball of all our players, I thought.

No Cornet suggests he’s off. Why no Dwight? There’s been no interest in him reported…

Marko, yeah he grew up in Burnley down Brunshaw.

Became pro very very late, spotter playing for Burnley College and given a trial at Wigan I think then they signed him.
Played against him a few times in Sunday league, one of my few goals against him when he played for Pendle Forest

Alex James said he’s got a knock. Obviously could just be the excuse but who knows. Highly likely he’s off anyway.

Must be quite a headache for Kompany already as to who the middle 2 will be. Cork appears to be the captain but you’d think Cullen is a cert due to his role and knowing the ins and outs of the system. Bastien impressed tonight but Brownhill got 3 assists… So who gets the other slot? Weird to finally have good options in there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both Cork and Cullen start at Hudds.

Cullen-Cork
McNeil-Brownhill
Rodriguez-Twine

Something like that, perhaps at least until we sign a striker or two and Twine drops back.

Just about to set off from Shrewsbury.

Bastien and Egan-Riley looked like really excellent additions.

Football style was really pleasing and so much movement, totally alien to how we are accustomed to how Burnley play.

Possession inside our own box endlessly without any hiccups but will give some kittens how much confidence the players are showing with that approach.

Enjoyable game - Bobby Thomas looks very much ‘ready’ for some proper football now also. He will be involved this season I reckon. Brownhill set up two identical goals in the second half with two nice crosses.

Cheers for the summary! Promising stuff - especially when we were without any of our main ‘creators’ in McNeil / Twine / JBG.

You can't draw too much from a friendly but I really hope we get Delap. Then that would be the perfect transfer window and I reckon we'll score plenty of goals. The movement from the players was good to see. Just need a pacy striker off the shoulder of the opposition cb's. Proof is in the pudding though as they say. UTC
