If Kompany saw the BPF performance today, he's probably told Alan to get him at any price.

What does this sentence even mean? Jay's fitness is about as reliable as any other reasonably reliable professional footballer.

Sabermetrics is obsolete in 2022. You need to put in the hard graft on Football Manager and FIFA Ultimate Team to truly know a player.

I watch a ton of Belgian/Dutch/MLS, barely any French/Turkish/Spanish. I watched Antwerp v KF Drita (a Kosovo team) in Europe on Thursday whilst watching Basel v Crusaders at the same time. Antwerp drew 0-0, Benson is shite.ksrclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 11:47 pmYour prowess as our resident football expert never ceases to amaze me.

Belgian league started this weekend, I watched Gent v Liege last night, entertaining game finished 2-2.

Sadly you will find you chose wrong next season. By the way I get no satisfaction from Jay's injury woes , just frustration that he's not there when we need him

Works out about 12 assists a season over a championship length season. However I would say this would be a step up in quality and physically.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
It would seem City have turned down a £16m offer from Southampton for Liam Delap. At that sort of fee he’s obviously very highly regarded.
The Athletic also stating that a number of Championship clubs are interested in loaning the player.

Not a rumour but since he has been mentioned a lot on the board, Zirkzee is available to leave BAyern this summer https://twitter.com/NicoSchira/status/1 ... Db-dA&s=19

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Bit harsh. He's just really inconsistent, on his day he's the best player on the pitch in Belgium.
Similar story to Bastien really in that he was being hyped up in his early twenties but moves didn't happen and he's drifted since. When on loan from Genk to Mouscron in 2018/19 he was being genuinely linked/scouted by the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Inter. Hasn't improved on his consistency since then and stalled as a result.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Last news on him from Romano was he'd cost over €10m and has a lot of options, including Serie A clubs.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 8:53 amBe a fantastic signing just not sure we can afford him
Like you say, not a realistic or affordable signing for us unfortunately.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Yep, wouldn’t need to move, would have ex-team mates here & will play in a similar possession-based style to City.
I think chances are low if Southampton are willing to substantially up their offer or Brighton want him as part of the Cucurella deal.

Lowton, probably on too large a wage to be back up and arguably suits the new system the least of the two.
Roberts, the saleale asset that could bring in a decent-ish fee, but which PL club would he be a starter at?

Roberts probably not a starter at many clubs but I suspect someone might fancy him as a back up if we sell for 6m (at a guess)

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I suspect City don’t want to loan Delap to the Premier League because they would then be seeing him sat on the bench. This is about blooding him into a fully fledged adult player capable of playing 30-40 games a season.
He’s good, but he won’t be ready for the PL yet other than as an impact sub.

I’d guess Lowton. He’s not going to be able to get up and down in the way Kompany expects his wing backs to play, I’d have thought.
I don’t want to lose Lowts though, love him.

To be fair, I think Brighton & Southampton lack firepower to the extent he could be a regular starter in both teams, especially with Armstrong reportedly off.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 10:08 amI suspect City don’t want to loan Delap to the Premier League because they would then be seeing him sat on the bench. This has me a little worried this move, if true.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 9:54 amCan only assume one of the existing RBs is leaving
Looks like we are going all out young players, and anyone who can command a fee out the door.
We certainly needed some young ones in the team but at a balance, we have 2 very good right backs for the championship at the club and have added the young lad from City.
Looks like Roberts and Lowton could be going?
For us to get youngsters cheap, improve, sell and make a profit will be hard at the minute as there's not much money floating about and every club wants high clauses inserting.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Why would we sell Roberts for £6m ? As a full international and a proven good defender right sided attacker we need to be asking North of £20m .
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I think Lowton can get up and down, as well as any. I suspect he may be overlooked, in favour of a Kompany signing, until it is a stark reality that we need him.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
750k is a cheeky bid even by Burnley standards, and Gabriel is tied to a long term deal, 2025 with the option of a further year, so unless Blackpool need the cash they can afford to set tight and hold out for other offers.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 9:49 amBurnley have offered 750k for Gabriel according to Nixon.

Naturally if we do pick up this lad, one of Lowton or Roberts will be on their way, of the two I'd prefer to retain Roberts, mainly due to him being younger, and also more likely to shine in a Kompany formation, but obviously if we receive a sizeable bid we'd have to at least consider it.
You do have to ask the question who will be left from our squad that finished last season, and this does seem an almighty changing of the guard, which will either prove a masterstroke, or see us fall flat on our faces.

Try be remotely realistic. We have just sold one of the most promising young CBs in England for 20mWoodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 10:44 amWhy would we sell Roberts for £6m ? As a full international and a proven good defender right sided attacker we need to be asking North of £20m .
How in gods name would a 26 year old right back be worth remotely similar
