Brilliant...and I can remember the whole day like it was yesterday...which is very unusual for an owd bloke like me
It must surely be in every Claret's top ten who attended that game,I never make a secret of it following the Clarets when Mullen was in charge was one of my favourite periods watching us.

Me too, Steve.
SJF hanging on the fence after the winner was my main memory of that great night.

Imagine what Jimmy Mullen could achieve with the millions our recent managers have been given to spend. For anyone who started going on in the 80's Mullen give us a season that has never been bettered and I even include the Coyle Capital Punishment season in that

I was there, in the Stand with the open end to my right.
Brilliant all dayer with the match as a fitting finalé.
But, I was convinced at the time, and still believe, that the wining goal was an O.G.
Sorry SJF!

That was the equaliser. The winner was either SJF or an OG. I'll always give it to SJF. If no one watches the video again then we don't need to change it

Your right, John Deary slid in. Suppose 30 years can play tricks with my mind..Goodclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 11:37 pmThat was the equaliser. The winner was either SJF or an OG. I'll always give it to SJF. If no one watches the video again then we don't need to change it![]()

Ha ha, it can indeed.Claret Till I Die wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 11:47 pmYour right, John Deary slid in. Suppose 30 years can play tricks with my mind..
It still bugs me Kiely kicked out at Painter and got away with it. Deary got booked for his reaction.
What a season that was.

I'm still convinced their goal was offside.

Great day. Finished work early, got over early, in the queue to get in early. The Mexican wave outside. Stood on the open end, edge of penalty area towards the “main” stand side.
Absolute fantastic night.
I also went to every game that season.
