Hmm, looks a bit dubious.
That website is only a couple of weeks old and nowhere does it indicate who is involved with them (the website is US based) or anything much beyond a bit of meaningless blurb.
The only three hits when you google them are the BFC website, this thread and their website.

Nothing impressive about their website - no info on it at all of any value, just a few companies listed.aggi wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 10:18 amHmm, looks a bit dubious.

Re: EMA Equity Partners
The main guy, Spencer Hunn, appears to have bounced around various positions over the years when you look at his socials - including, what looks like, a water inflatable slide venture, back in the day. Strong 'fallen at the first hurdle in Dragon's Den' energy. Also Utah resident so assumed from the same religious background as our current owners.
Re: EMA Equity Partners
I assume this is Spencer Hunn the spokesman. https://www.linkedin.com/in/spencer-hunn-763827189/ Nothing on there about EMA Capital.
And at this fairly dubious company http://70.40.136.223/acn/us/acn-spencer-hunn.html

Re: EMA Equity Partners
10 minutes of google really paints a picture with regards to Spencer Hunn.
Fake social media profile followers, involved in many ABC companies with no notable substance or success.
Doesn’t take a genius to see him being from Salt Lake City is relevant.
Feels very shady

I did wonder how CFS were affording the full package, so this does make more sense

Re: EMA Equity Partners
On the plus side though they aren't a gambling firm and we are possibly a million or 2 out of pocket.
Re: EMA Equity Partners
To be honest, from the outside looking in it looks like an attempt to circumvent FFP.
But, given our position, I can't imagine there would be any need for that.

I agree that it is definitely a plus that we do not have a betting company sponsoring us but I suspect we are a hell of a lot more than a “million or 2” out of pocket.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 11:15 amOn the plus side though they aren't a gambling firm and we are possibly a million or 2 out of pocket.
Wan’t our last shirt deal £7.5m a year ?
As for the EMA equity partners sponsorship deal it looks very smelly to me and you have got to wonder why we have not just allowed our home strip sponsors on all of our 2 or 3 strips given it’s very likely they appear to be the only ones stumping up any kind of real cash

Pointless comparing a sponsorship deal while in the Prem to the Championship. Not a prayer you would get anywhere near that sort of figure in this divison, hence the lower amount I mentioned

Re: EMA Equity Partners
I must admit I'm not exactly rushing to put much trust in a company whose third result on Google is this thread.
Perhaps some of the people who get upset about criticism of our owners will be contracting them for some transactional-based services.

I think it’s probably nearer to 6m a year out of pocket.

Expecting a bobby dazzler of a CFS third shirt.
Re: EMA Equity Partners
If I was looking at this deal with no knowledge of Burnley's financial position I'd be wondering if EMA Equity was actually a way for the club owners to put additional money into the club via shirt sponsorship. A company that doesn't seem to exist anywhere other than a website that was created less than a couple of weeks ago and a principal who seems to have not mentioned he works there makes me think shell company.
BUT, we're expecting to make big profits this year so I can't see why that would be necessary.

To be honest, both the shirt sponsorship deals look like our owners couldn't find a proper deal and did these arrangements just to save face.

I can understand you sticking up for the new regime, and I agree many of the things that have needed refreshing for years have been targeted early by Pace nd Co; but to claim that Burnley are now operating on an international stage is a little strange bearing in mind we have just been relegated from the Premier league. “Now that they have a world celebrity manager” might have read better?

Re: EMA Equity Partners
Rather than have a dig at CT or others why don’t you provide us all with some incite as to how this new shirt sponsorship deal can have any impact whatsoever on club here or ‘globally’.
You have already been told that this is a new company with no history of trading in any sector let alone in expanding the brand or business of a football club based in East Lancashire.

It is amazing to see how the popularity of English football continues to grow not only in the US but throughout the world, and it is easy for us to see that Burnley is an exciting and emerging player on the international stage.
It's difficult to see what people are getting worked up about here specifically. I can't disagree with any of that.

Now I'm no fan of the currently owners or indeed leveraged buyouts for the purchase of 'community assets', however, having said that, let's keep their religion out of this. It's not cool, and it makes people look like small-minded religious bigots.
