It’s match day, who’s buzzin

Post by Lowbankclaret » Sat Aug 06, 2022 1:16 am

Having been lucky to go to Huddersfield.

I am seriously buzzin for the game today.

I’m having a brilliant time on holiday as ever but always get that sadness of realising I won’t be on a game when away. Won’t be the same waiting for twitter updates whilst queuing for a Disney World ride.

Yeah. Really looking forward to seeing some attacking football in front of a big crowd. There's no denying Dyche worked magic with our club but it was difficult to watch in that last year of his reign. This feels like a new beginning

I was really shocked and sad to see Dyche go. It could have gone many different ways from that point, but I'm very excited about the way it has gone. I expect at least a few wobbles on the journey, but overall I think we're going to be an exciting team to watch.

New season, new start, UTC!

7:00am K.O. over here. Hoping my $140 investment in Clarets+ pays off.

Having another glass of California Chardonnay before turning in to calm the nerves. Torn between "we can't possibly repeat that" and "we are the Barca of the Championship and no-one can stop us!"

Despite being a 60+ year Burnley fan and therefore having the built in pessimism of all long time fans, I'm going for the latter.

Last week was the first time that team played together and it can only get better from there.

Right? I'm right? Right? are you sure? tell me I'm right...

In 2017 we were en-route to Volcano Bay & needed the sat nav on my lads phone as the normal junction was closed. We left the villa at 1 up against Chelski. When we arrived he told me there'd been 2 more goals. I replied 2-1 down wasn't too bad..........

I was going to report this post for the negative pessimism , then realized that possibley because i have only watched the clarets for some 50+ years and having missed the we won the league by some 4 years that he was actually spot on. he like me and others have seen the highs the lows and inbetweens so yes Im buzzing . but also like others the nerves are playing up ive just finished mopping the kitchen floor for the 3 rd time in 2 hrs next up is cut the grass again as i only did it last night. will be putting the frying pan on in 2 hrs for pre match brunch then heading over to the turf ohhh did i say im buzzing come on baca ops come on Burnley UTC

I came THIS close to going to the match today and I haven't been to the turf since the Dunn penalty game in 2010 (I think) other than a few local away games at the stadium of light. Was going to do like I did in the nineties in my twenties (the cheap way) national express to Leeds then train over Burnley and the same way back. Was always a long day, especially on yer own, but I used to love it. A beer in Leeds then arriving at Manchester Road about half 12 and walking down to town. Would always have a good chat in the pub with some Clarets who loved the fact that I was from the North East and supported Burnley. Then onto the ground to see us play out a draw with Port Vale or Crewe or Rotherham. Always had to leave ten minutes before the end and sprint up to the taxi rank to so I could catch the 5pm train as the last national express left at about 6.30pm from Leeds in them days. I used to drive in the 2000s but that took a few beers out of the equation. Stopped going when my daughter was born and I was mortgaged up but I'm at the stage now where I'm ready to come back haha. Sorry, don't know where that story came from!!!!

Not looked forward to a game as much in quite a while. Whether we play like we did against Huddersfield or not, let's get behind the lads and show this new team what it can be like to play at a packed Turf Moor.
