Superb touches from Roberts on the edge of the box before Vitinho tamely put it straight at the keeper.

HT.
Shocking defending for their goal. 2 attackers up for a mega hoofball, THB has them both cos Charlie is so wide. When THB makes a move for the first header Charlie has to track back but cos he’s not used to playing CB he is far too slow. A gift.

My main concern with the team building is they are all coming in around £2m on average. Every side in the Championship has a collection of £2m and better players. Problem being our guys are strangers for now and a lot of them are making geographical moves that take settling in time. Might work long term but I can’t see it gelling soon.

It doesn’t look like a game for Cork. They are running past him on the quick breaks

Time to get Vitinho off. Not worked in that role at all for me.
Hopefully fans can calm down a bit with him now.

We could sacrifice one of the 4 centre midfielders and put Tella on up top with Jay.

Hoping Twine gets in the team if, for nothing else, to keep Brownhill away from free kicks. Awful.
He's consistently awful at set pieces. Everyone else in the starting XI must be shocking

Weird comment when he's almost never been given the ball. He missed a half decent chance but Jay squandered a far better play.
We're using him more now and he's looking brighter. A winger can't do much if he's never brought into play.

Still like something about Bastien. I'm inclined to agree in that his attacking contribution isn't much but he's not being used as a proper winger he's coming inside to give Maatsen room. We play an out and out winger out there it changes how Maatsen plays, this is an assymmetrical formation.

Fair comment. He may very well be occupying space and keeping their defenders honest but I just see someone ambling around high up the pitch.

Oh I totally agree, although I think we'd probably need a different defensive setup to have a conventional 433, either Maatsen sits deeper or you put him on the wing, Taylor LB someone else in CB. I like having 2 wingers to stretch players and think it might work better with this team against some defences, but would need Twine in the middle as a deep forward/false nine or an outright big mobile centre forward, poundland Haaland.

Looks like we've made that change now, hope it works.
