Solely on VK for me that one. He got it wrong with the changes. We suddenly looked very vulnerable to counter attacks and completely lost our shape when he made the changes. Jayrod was doing well and Tella was good both going forwards and coming back. Everything just went to pieces and it took until the last ten minutes for us actually to click back into place.

Hope you enjoyed the game despite the result, and you can't say you weren't entertained for your money, 6 goals and 2 red cards.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 5:18 pmFirst game on the turf for me this season. Incredibly disappointed in the crowd especially after five games.
Worrying if the crowd on the turf is already getting restless.
I was at the Luton game, and generally it was supportive.
That's why today is so disappointing, a golden opportunity to finally get a home win on the board and settle things down among the fanbase.

A mile off a promotion winning side for me. We don’t have to pass it out from the back all the time and always look for an extra pass. Muric will let in plenty of howlers playing like this. We need a commanding centre half and a striker and to speed things up. Barnes has the movement of an oil tanker. Wrong subs and made far too early. Lost our way after that

Re: Burnley v Blackpool - match thread
To be honest it was just towards the end and the frustration at the silly mistakes, which is understandable, not taking 3 points from local rivals when being up 3-1 at half time. I don't believe it was as toxic as some are suggesting, as a whole, just the usual pockets who moan every chance they are given.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 5:34 pmHope you enjoyed the game despite the result, and you can't say you weren't entertained for your money, 6 goals and 2 red cards.

As it should be NC, I'm baffled how anyone could find something to moan about in the 1st half, 2nd half admittedly it went rather pear shaped.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 5:20 pmBooing, Swearing at players, every time Muric got the ball he was getting dogs abuse. The moans and groans throughout the game just got louder and louder.

Interesting comments in the post game presser
“You could feel the anxiety in the stadium when the ball went backwards”

Sadly we live in a world now of instant gratification where a lot of people expect it all and expect it now. We will be fine. U T CCulmclaret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 5:19 pmAre people serious. We are FIVE, yes FIVE, games into the season with virtually a new side. We’ve lost only one and that narrowly. I can remember a very talented young side which lost six and drew one of its first eight games and went on the win the league…….god knows what UTC would have made of that

I didn’t did you ?
Re: Burnley v Blackpool - match thread
If we don't make that error in the first half I think we bury them. However important passing it out at the back is to us it's going to completley undermine the system if we give stupid goals away like that.
I pray this isn't Eddie Howe repeating itself and we need to score 3-4 goals to guarantee wins.

Yes and we then scored a 3rd to lead 3-1 at the break, it's what happened 2nd half that concerns me more we basically went to sleep, perhaps we thought the game was won, and if so today will have been a harsh lesson that this league will be tough, and we can't afford to switch off whatever the score.
Re: Burnley v Blackpool - match thread
Why the F did we make the substitutions when we were cruising FFS.
Re: Burnley v Blackpool - match thread
Don't know what happened to us at half time..
We came out in the 2nd half and were way off it.
We were so open.. Blackpool could have scored 2/3 goals before they finally did score to make it 3-2.
The comeback was coming and it was clear to see.

Leading 3-1 and letting in two in two minutes in enough to wind anyone up, especially the manner in which we conceded.
It was poor game management from Kompany and from the lads on the pitch. We go again.

Re: Burnley v Blackpool - match thread
Agree with all of that but, with a new manager and a rebuilt team playing a completely different style of football, did you really expect us to look like a promotion-winning team 5-games in?Boss Hogg wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 5:35 pmA mile off a promotion winning side for me. Yeah, a joke with Ashley Westwood is definitely evidence there’s been a “conversation”
