Refs had a poor 5mins. Misses a late one on Roberts, through the back of JRod and gives a FK when Brownhill has played the ball.

Re: West Brom v Burnley Match Thread
Frustrating. If West Brom could finish we'd be 3-1 down, they are attacking very well, shakey end of the first half for Burnley. Looking a bit more solid now. Defensive having a shocker / very luckyTheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 9:19 pmHow are we doing? Surprised we've not made any changes.

Re: West Brom v Burnley Match Thread
Largely outplayed and pegged back despite the lead. Muric superb, our only success is coming from long balls for Tella to run onto, both fullbacks have been poor, Cork unusually sloppy, Brownhill forced back by the play, Vitinho reserved out wide. Both CBs doing well especially Taylor. Look like we need changes to really get hold of the game.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 9:19 pmHow are we doing? JBG and Churlinov coming on for Tella and Maatsen.
Muric makes another easy save when he shouldn’t have had a prayer.

Cullen wakes a Baggies fan up in the back row with his shot.

Re: West Brom v Burnley Match Thread
I could be very harsh but JM does seem to keep cutting back in rather than opening his legs out down the flank. He's done it all season. With his collection of sloppy passes in the last 10 mins, I think I'd swap him for Vitinho and put any of our options on the right.
Possibly harsh as he is clearly a very talented lad.

That's not the subs I expected. Maatsen was starting to get into the game. Tella's speed was causing them problems.

Right call by Kompany. Tella run himself into the ground and Maatsen poor. Come on you Clarets.

Re: West Brom v Burnley Match Thread
Brave decisions from VK. I think I agree with them both. Needed to change something. Tella run his legs off. IM seemed a bit of a weak link but we'll soon see!
Re: West Brom v Burnley Match Thread
Yea, Talksport commentary can be like that,TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 9:19 pmHow are we doing? I'm listening on Talksport and the commentators, one of which is Iwelumo are talking about pretty much anything except what's happening on the pitch.
As for Burnley we are lulling WBA into thinking they are bossing us, where in fact we are in full control. Another goal will follow soon.

Re: West Brom v Burnley Match Thread
Can't believe I'm saying this but I'd consider swapping Cork for Bastien or Benson, moving Brownhill/Bastien into CDM and Churlinov or Bastien in the hole.
Corks so important to our play but he's been off today, don't know if the fixture congestion is hitting him or what.

A player switching from RW to LB during a game must be fairly rare.

Re: West Brom v Burnley Match Thread
I was just thinking the same. Maybe the 3 games in succession has taken it out of him but he's starting to just look a bit leggy. Maybe we need his height though when they start lumping it long if we're still leading, later.spt_claret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 9:28 pmCan't believe I'm saying this but I'd consider swapping Cork for Bastien or Benson, moving Brownhill/Bastien into CDM and Churlinov or Bastien in the hole.

Loved his darting run deep in their half though. He'll come good in this match.
