Comparison to 2015/2016 season.

Post by Dano1bfc » Sat Sep 03, 2022 1:06 am

Hey,

Just had a quick look at the points total after 8 games for this and the season where we won the league .

We had 15 after 8 games last time around and 13 this time.

That is a remarkable achievement this time with a young inexperienced side, and manager I may add. To be within 2 points of a side and manager that clearly knew the league and how to be successful is a great achievement.

Whether we can cling on to that sides coat tales is another matter. I love watching this side progress and the battling qualities today were very ‘Dyche’ like . But I feel we would have taken the 3 points under the former boss after 90 mins.

Whilst I love watching us play at the moment and I’m certainly entertained, I feel the promotion winning sides under Dyche especially in their element eg Brentford and Mk Dons away would have the beating of Vinnys men.

However, and this is a big one… this side entertains so much over the last 8 games I’m not sure I’m bothered about every last point. I understand it’s important we get back to the money league for the financials. Just as an alternative tho I’d be happy with a strong play off finish this year for the young lads’ experience . Then a big push nxt yr with the lessons, experience and mentality earnt. The talent I think is already there.

Anyway just a thought or two. UTC.

To be fair we threw two points away against Blackpool so could have been on the same points.
Thought we were lucky today but could easily have gone either way. WB were the better side. But we could have nicked three points.
