It's way before my time though obviously there are plenty of unmistakeable faces, but there are certainly a lot who I don't recognise. I can only name 14 including Harry Potts and Joe Brown.
Can anyone shed any light on who's in this picture?

And so you should !!Claret Till I Die wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 9:15 pmI know the youngest one on the left of the front row
Got 9 of those.Royboyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 9:30 pmTop row - 3, Les Latcham, 4, David Walker, 5, Arthur Bellamy, 10, Mick Buxton, 11, Andy Lochhead.
Second row - 1, Walter Joyce, 2, Peter Simpson, 3, Ian Towers, 4, Ian Lawson, 5, Billy Marshall, 6, Harry Thomson,
7, Adam Blacklaw, 8, Jim Furnell, 9, Trevor Meredith, 11, John Angus, 12, John Talbut.
More to follow.
We’d also moved to round neck shirts by the end of the 61-62 season so it seems unlikely to photo was taken at the start of 62-63. Start of 61-62 seems more likely.
Certainly before that for various reasons.......I'd have it as 1961.
CTID......Was it 18th June 1943 for your Dad ?......In which case he would have been 18 at the start of the 1961/62 season.Claret Till I Die wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:24 amI'd go off '61 going off the age of the younger ones
You must be so proud of your Dad's scoring achievements whilst at Turf Moor.Claret Till I Die wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:41 amIt was RBC. I did wonder if it was 12 months sooner but with the players missing as above 61 seems correct
Great spot for Dave Merrington.
Thats an excellent idea.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 2:05 pmGreat spot for Dave Merrington.
I have a folder of squad photos, lots of which I’ve downloaded from here and our former home. Some scanned from programmes. Would it be worth sharing them on here. CT might like to make it a page along with ground photos?
No worries, thanks for pointing it out, it didn't come across as picky, just fairly impolite.durhamclaret wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 11:39 amNot wanting to be picky but let’s spell these great players names correctly
Harry Thomson not with a p. UTC
No worries here too, it was never my intention to be impolite, good job btw.ClaretGeorgina wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 2:48 pmNo worries, thanks for pointing it out, it didn't come across as picky, just fairly impolite.
I will post an updated list with all these 'great players' names spelt correctly. UTC.
I certainly can't offer any advice on the technical stuff, but it does sound like a grand idea.Bfc wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 3:14 pmAs pointed out by FCBurnley, Billy Dougal and George Bray are correct.
Re adding a selection of team photos. I have lots going back to over 100 years ago. But knowing how to add them to the message board is beyond me.
If someone on here ( which will have been outlined elsewhere), then I will add them for people's enjoyment.
If I master that, I will then consider adding interesting Bfc paper cuttings, from the thousands I have, again going back to over 100 year ago.
Are you printing from PC, ipad or phone, Bfc?Bfc wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 3:14 pmAs pointed out by FCBurnley, Billy Dougal and George Bray are correct.

There was a long running thread with all that kind of imagery - I am sure someone will have a link to itTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 2:05 pmGreat spot for Dave Merrington.

Though I like the idea of it being a menu item on the site rather than a threadChester Perry wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 4:22 pmThere was a long running thread with all that kind of imagery - I am sure someone will have a link to it
How do you post on here and where are your photos stored?Bfc wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 6:10 pmTricky Trevor, I have no idea about how to use computers and similar technology and It frustrates me trying. My brains are in my hands.
I could get someone who will show me what I should do.
As Chester suggested, the press cuttings could be started as a new thread. For some of us older supporters, it will recall memories of special games and results. For the younger generation, it will make them think, how lucky we were seeing some outstanding home and foreign players playing against Burnley.
It would be before his time because he didn't sign on until 1964.dougcollins wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 7:29 pmWould Colin Blant be there? Perhaps just after his time.
I think Colin Blant was in the same year as my eldest brother at Alder Grange school in Rawtenstall.dougcollins wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 7:29 pmWould Colin Blant be there? Perhaps just after his time.
