Frustrating. We could have gone second with a win. Sheff Utd starting to pull away a touch

A proper bore fest of a second half.
We never looked like winning but were still comfortably the better side.

Crap all round tbh.
Vinny got to do more to change a game
Playing against low block three at the back - put another striker on the pitch ffs

Poor result for me. Preston worked hard but we’re there for the taking.

Decent point, l suppose.

Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
Roberts wasn’t the issue. He arguably played his best game of the season. Brownhill had his worst game of the season.
We only looked like scoring in that second half in the last 5 mins when Zaroury and Maatsen combined.

Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
We dilly dallied too much on the right instead of feeding a fresh Zaroury on the right - opened them up on 3 occasions

Poor performance tonight. No cutting edge and no tempo.

VK cannot be happy with that. Tippy tappy lightweight stuff by us easily dealt with by them. Certainly did not deserve any more than a point. Fans were great.
Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
Really poor, not sure I like this starting 11. Benson doesn't do anywhere near enough in the final 3rd, still not convinced Brownhill is a 10, I'd have Maatsen over Vitinho at left back all day long.

Roberts faded in second, no end product

A rank average match between two rank average mid table teams
I reckon we'll finish 11th...

Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
That were very very poor. We looked absolutely clueless and had zero urgency on the ball.
Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
Ignore tarkys ears, he’s like this every match, not sure why he bothers watching.
Overall deserved the win and fair play to PNE for defending very well in the second half.
Zaroury looks a very exciting player!

Unfortunately we aren't looking like a side capable of getting into the top two.

Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
Total domination but needs a plan B tactically not just personnel. The same Dyche at times suffered from.
Maatsen should have been sooner, we went stagnant on about 65 tonight, needed that spark sooner. Splitting hairs a bit though. A lack of tempo at times the real problem, gave them chance to dig in.
1 shot in the last 40 minutes was the issue too.

Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
You cannot dominate a game like that and not win, simple as that.
Played the last 30 minutes like we were 0-5 up and couldn’t be bothered to get another!

Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
I thought Roberts (and Cork) were comfortably our best players tonight. You said Jay Rod was good, I thought he was anonymous. So I guess we watched a different game.
Re: Match Thread - PNE v Burnley
Preston set up with 5 at the back at home in a local derby. Good point for them in the end but their fans are in for a long, boring season and mid table finish. It’s a bit like us last year without the excitement of a relegation battle.
