I know it’s easy to say in hindsight but I really wish we’d signed him when we had the chance.

Dived for his penalty.
Got a little kick on the side of his leg, but dived forward.

Re: Ivan Toney
Thomas Frank showing you can play good attacking football without a massive budget and Brightons form maybe highlighting how good Potter was and how they'll miss him badly.
Re: Ivan Toney
Kane is technically much better but Toney has certainly improved.

What a shame we didn't take advantage of Haaland being born in Leeds.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 10:47 pmA force 10 HarryKane is Englands best CF by a street.

Re: Ivan Toney
Haaland is a Leeds fan and as a young man was about to sign for them, however, as Leeds weren’t prepared to put him straight in the first team another club ( I can’t remember their name) offered him first team football so he signed for them. The rest we all know.
Re: Ivan Toney
How can u say Tony dived for penalty.
It’s a stone wall penalty. Leg kicked. Nowhere near hall.
First goal a touch class.

Darragh MacAntony who was well known for spouting rowlocks 'slapped a £13m' price tag on him when Bournemouth and Burnley were reportedly interested in Toney. Brentford paid £5m plus add-ons for him on a 5 year deal.
Were we ever really interested in signing him?

Re: Ivan Toney
Sadly he received racist abuse via social media after the game.
Re: Ivan Toney
This from a club (I assume its from a Brighton fan) who's fans condemned us for booing one of their players that accused one of our players as being racist ... you could not make it upGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 11:27 amSadly he received racist abuse via social media after the game.

The 23yr old man who sent the message is from Newcastle.
His account details and picture are being shared around social media.
Interestingly there are a number of people trying to tell Toney off for trying to ruin the young man's life

Re: Ivan Toney
It’s kind of a ridiculous comment from bosscat really, even if he is a Brighton fan. Every club in the land I’m sure has racist “fans” who might be inclined to post cr@p on social media. As if they represent the views of the club.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 12:29 pmYou have made it up to be fair as it wasn't from a Brighton fan

*Yes, the same Home Secretary who had a hissy fit when Gary Lineker expressed his freedom of speech.

He's admitted to some and denied others, so we've just got to wait.

Re: Ivan Toney
Toney's an excellent player and is now trying to compile a sympathy collection in order to get off lightly. This will be very intresting. Serial offender - hundreds of offences, not just one or two.
Re: Ivan Toney
Sorry but what a silly and flippant comment to make just to get a dig in at the govt. This supposed fan has been disgusting in his abuse and rightly deserves the most severe punishment to hopefully deter any more muppets from doing the same.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 4:37 pmIs this the kind of thing the *Home Secretary wants the 'woke' police to ignore to save freedom of speech?

Sympathy collection?! He posted this in October before being charged in November. Either way, the two aren't related.
