I read that also was some very sensible posts with a sense of perspective and some very complimentary. I have to say 1 mentioned that most of our team was with us in the premier league last season which made me chuckle. We started with 3 that was with us last season and another 2 came off the bench astonishing to think that we are were we are with that much change.
I’ve read similar stuff on other fan forums. It’s not that they are having dig I think but that they just don’t realise our presence in the PL last season is irrelevant. New manager, new team pretty much. The only help the PL is to us this season are the parachute payments that give us a bit more money. Other than that we don’t really have any current PL experience.

So, had a bit of a whinge on the CFS thread tonight so thought I’d counter balance that with some positivity :D

I thought we were absolutely brilliant yesterday. Just fantastic. A different team to the one I feel we’ve been of late.

The passing was quick, decisive, commuting players, drawing fouls, early balls in when we got it wide. Brilliant. And best of all: I loved THB’s cross field passes. They make such a difference to mix things up imo. Keep the opposition guessing. We were also more wise in breaking play up early in transitions.

Thought Muric was excellent, THB imperious, Beyer good, Vits solid, Cork (MotM) and Cullen instrumental. Pleased for Zaroury to score after a quieter Cov showing. Tella had them on toast.

Not changing my mind at the moment because they came & tried to play football. Most won’t and we need to do exactly that against teams playing the low block. If we play like that against them, and master creating chances/scoring against them, I’ll gladly admit I was wrong.

Ha ha. Good on ya bud. You are right of course but I think the point the opposing fans are making is about our alleged experience in the PL which is of course negligible.

You could stand in a dark room and predict the time and you would be right twice a day.

We'd scored 1 goal in all but 1 of our previous 6 games. I think the issue was Roberts and the right hand side, which VK started to fix in the Coventry game. I doubt all the people who argued against that problem will be offering a mea culpa.

Then again I could be wrong and we score 1 goal in the next 5 games: we put 5 past Wigan so......!

I don't think you have to change your mind on anything just praise VK for making the changes required and add the caveat that 1 game is 1 game. We certainly have not been moving the ball quick enough prior to yesterday.

In 5 games time we will have played everyone, who is anyone, and if we are still top then you can argue not only are we good enough to go up but we should be champions. Of course, then we get a couple of injuries and who knows. I doubt anyone on the Sheffield United was predicting a run of form like they've had - a month ago.

they've got half their team missing, anyone that finishes above them will stand a very good chance of winning the league imho

I think we are definitely good enough to finish in the top 2 of this division, but we are nowhere near good enough for the Premier league. Look at how Fulham get promoted from this league and how they struggle in the Premier.

Totally agree. It’s not arrogant it’s realistic. The supposed ‘best team’ have just taken 2 points from four games, three of them at home, and needed help from the ref to get a point yesterday, sending off two Blackpool players and giving 8 minutes extra to get the equaliser. There is no one to touch us just now and I believe we are just gonna get better.
If you'd seen the sendings off on TV, you wouldn't be thinking they classed as "help from the ref". One of the men was sent off for a second booking when he made a hard sliding tackle that got there just a bit late, and the other was sent off because he objected to something that had just happened and, after the ball was clearly dead, blasted it straight at an opponent from point blank range. Both were second bookings, and neither was remotely controversial - it would have been controversial if the ref had let them pass.

I was of course being a little facetious about the sendings off and jury time. To be honest I like Sheff Utd and always have. I hope they do well as long as they finish behind us.

I do hope your reply isn’t suggesting we aren’t the best in the division though. 😉

Fulham are not really struggling this year they look like they will be fine
