Spurs away 1960/61 season. 4-0 down after about 35 mins and 4-1 at half time. Game finished 4-4 in a week.
I met Jimmy Mac about ten years ago and he told me that was the best game he had ever played in. He told Danny Blanchflower his good friend and Spurs captain to watch out in the second half!!

Not sure I've ever felt sicker when they scored.
Wrong game but you’re still sort of right
2nd leg comeback
And you’re also right that the Pavlechenko goal seemed to be in agonising slow motion

Cracking free kick from just outside the penalty area by 'Bomber' Harris to make it 4-3. I was stood on the open terrace opposite the Boothen End and it was the first time I'd seen us play in white shirts.
I was in the Stand, to the left. :)
Can't believe its nearly 60 years ago!

If I'm not mistaken I think Everton missed a penalty at 0-1. Alan Whittle was the culprit.
I don't remember the penalty. We were well out of it, then everything clicked all at once.

Some good replies on this thread trying to think of memorable fightbacks during our PL tenure.

Not many where we've come from 2 down but there is a few that can be classed as impressive considering the standards of the opposition.

City home where we barely saw the ball for the 1st half, yet 2nd half we took the game to them and JBG scored a cracker to earn us a point.

Everton home where we turned it around and Scotty bagged a late winner.

Villa home where Grealish run us ragged 1st half but Dwight was electric after the break as we run out 3-2 victors.

Most recent would have to be Watford last season when it appeared we'd done enough to secure survival on that day.

Whilst my father (who hated football) reluctantly, but pressured, took me to a game in 1966. It was 3 years later before I was confident enough to get a bus from Nelson and watch a game from the front of the Longside. That would be 1969 and I was 10.

The fist two games were on consecutive Saturdays one was against Palace the other Sheffield Wednesday. In both games we were behind 2-0 but we won both 4-2.

Not a bad start for me. Pity it didn't always work out that way over the next 53 years. Saturday was pretty special. UTC
