Re: REPORT: Halil’s Late Turkish Delight
Good read Tony.
May I also add to what you have said about that last minute winner. It was also the goal that took us to 35 goals scored this season. 1 more than the 34 we achieved in the PL all last season.
Whilst the league is a marathon and not a sprint - I keep finding things that put a spring in my step that tells me that the new era is probably as good as anyone could have hoped for us to start off with.

Re: REPORT: Halil’s Late Turkish Delight
I, for one, never thought we'd be 5 points clear at the beginning of November. I was happy enough with mid-table and watching some exciting free-flowing football, given that it's a new manager, near enough new squad, ethos and style. I can't get over how quickly most things have jelled. Yeah, it's early days and who knows where we'll be in May, but one thing is for sure, it's not dull.
Those final 10 minutes or so will live with me for a long time to come.

Halil sounds an intelligent and grounded lad from the sounds of his interview. Classy player as well if you ask me.

It might be a little premature to describe him as classy, but he's certainly a better option than Barnes.Belgianclaret wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 6:22 pmHalil sounds an intelligent and grounded lad from the sounds of his interview. Classy player as well if you ask me.

An offside effort and an extravagant one that went nowhere near is hardly going to change my opinion of him.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 10:15 pmBit harsh having a dig at Ashley after THAT disallowed volley last night..not to mention his scorpion kick attempt !!

Rightly, you and every report writer, have been awaiting this moment!
Re: REPORT: Halil’s Late Turkish Delight
I noticed lots of Turkish twitter accounts making mention of the match and the goal. Obviously fairly well known there.
