Breakfast
Breakfast
Just trying to plan out for the Blackburn game, as it’s a fair journey for us, anybody know where we can book a breakfast (preferably a pub) for a few beers and breakfast early doors prior to the game?
Cheers

Queen Vic
Is the Miners cafe still open?
Spoons will be chocks
Not sure which pubs will open early on a Sunday morning.

Re: Breakfast
Sycamore Farm is OK, bit of snobbery cuisine going on IMHO.

Re: Breakfast
JJ’s is at Dugdale Arms, Dugdale Rd, Ightenhill, Burnley. NOT Padiham. Dugdale Rd is off Padiham Rd, opposite Ightenhill church.
Re: Breakfast
Every pub I went in today sold crisps that should suffice.
A landlady told me there is a bit of a battle, police want pubs closed, licensees want them open obviously, the rationale being they are still recovering from the lockdowns plus the police know where people are

Re: Breakfast
JJs at The Dugdale is excellent, but you'll definitely need to book. Inghams in the old JJs premises on the road to Cliviger is also excellent. As is The Wagoners tbf. Other than that I'm not really sure...

Re: Breakfast
Does anybody know what's happening with the pubs in town next Sunday morning? I've seen that the Prinny royal is opening at 9am, everywhere else seems to be keeping quiet for now.

Brambles cafe in town are openingat 9, then a plethora of pubs to choose from.
JHs and Bistro 197 also do good breakfasts but not sure if/when they open
Also don't forget it's on a Sunday so free parking too in town

Most I’ve spoken to have said they’re opening early for regulars, might be a back door job though

Re: Breakfast
The T20 final is at 8.00 to approx 11.30 that morning.
Re: Breakfast
Yeah I noticed that, if England are playing we'll probably stay in Colne and watch it at the Morris Dancers.summitclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 10:32 amThe T20 final is at 8.00 to approx 11.30 that morning.

Re: Breakfast
I've just seen the cricket club is home fans only on Sunday.
Poor do that. We will never normalise the fixture whilst keeping everybody apart.
They want to be the away venue then they should cater for all away fans.

Re: Breakfast
Probably don't want their facilities smashing to bits, how would the pay for their 2 or 3 pros next season if their repair bills are high..Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 4:39 pmI've just seen the cricket club is home fans only on Sunday.

Re: Breakfast
The Blackburn fans will all be ST holders and most just normal fans.
It seems to work for all other fans including those who have caused trouble like Blackpool and Arsenal.
No chance the Fernhurst will open for us now in the return fixture.

Re: Breakfast
Surely you aren't seriously suggesting that it would have done if the Cricket Club had been available for Rovers fans!Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 5:01 pmThe Blackburn fans will all be ST holders and most just normal fans.

Re: Breakfast
To be fair to Blackburn (and the police) in the past they have opened up the away end a few hours early for Burnley fans to get in there and enjoy the pre-match experience

Re: Breakfast
I'm not suggesting anything, was hoping we would be allowed.
But with a lot of Blackburn fans only wanting us to be given the same allocation as they received in the CF, they won't like pubs open for us if they never had them.
Re: Breakfast
That's a really good phrase and objective QTT, to "normalise the fixture". It's not about sanitising it, the passion and intensity will always be there, but both sets of fans ought to be able to attend home and away without concerns for personal safety. I wonder if supporters groups from both sides have any form of regular comms and what, if any, efforts are being made by those involved to help "normalise the fixture" as you put it.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 4:39 pmI've just seen the cricket club is home fans only on Sunday.

Re: Breakfast
Not sure Blackburn fans leaving the cricket club while hundreds of Burnley fans were making their way to the cricket field stand/Longside would be a good idea.
