You still don't understand what the idea is behind defund the police cos its not the "intent on closing down police forces across the United States"

Its about repurposing some of the government funds into alternative community support mechanisms such as social work, community support policing and education instead of simply policing as it is today. Where certain police forces display institutional racism and corruption then they want to see money spent into overhauling those police forces so again the standard of policing is improved.

The same goes for the UK where we have seen crime and lawlessness soar in deprived areas where community support and community policing has been scrapped.

You listen to Tucker Carlson if you want and let him put fear into you but actually investing in society and communities to reduce crime in the first place and looking to reform police forces that are ineffective and corrupt seems a pretty good idea to me

Doesn't talk about closing any forces down and even mentions that just repurposing 5% of the current police funding into community programs would make a huge difference.
